I think if anyone sees me doing housework at silly o'clock in the morning, they will think I too have been taking drugs. Either that or perhaps they have been taking drugs and are hallucinating :rotfl:
hope wingey colleague shuts up soon!
Right, best get dressed and start working through that flylady list!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Sea - I went onto OS board this morning and followed the thread here http://http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=514704
It looks quite achievable today as well so I am hoping to get it all done. I agree with Hypno that if I was more organised at home I would feel less stressed and if we have specific tasks as a family I might be able to chill out more in the evening. I am hoping to spend no more than an hour doing the housework - my new goal - we shall see
Dh has emailed me though to confirm the feather duster has been purchased and DD is running round the house to Girls Aloud cleaning :rotfl: and he is polishing the light switches - no doubt I will never hear the end of this.
Good point re the suncream, does it go out of date - I thought it was 12 months and we haven't been away for 2 years but I'm sure I have some, will go and have a look when I get back - thanks
Oh and I also thought about signing up for mystery shopping, I know you do some Hypno what are the best sites. Am hoping as I work in Manchester I might get some during my lunch hour.0 -
HI blackangel
Well I'll join you all on the flylady thing. It must be possible in the school hols at least, and I'd definitely feel less stressed if the house were cleaner.
Suncream does have 'best before' dates on it but I have used them way past their dates and found they worked perfectly well. Don't take that as sound medical advice though!
I hope you all have a lovely time and get those batteries recharged.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
How old are your kids Sea, could you get them on board maybe to help out? DS is only 3 but even he did a bit of tidying yesterday, just because he woke up to find me and DD dancing to music and doing housework and felt he was missing out though..........................0

Going to have a NSD today as well, spending diary is back out in force, took £60 out last night which are our spends for week for everything apart from food and petrol - and me and DH have both put our debit cards in the drawer so we are not tempted to spend. Hoping to save as much of the £60 as possible to buy sun cream and other essentials.
just a quickie, do check out the freebies board, I got some ( full size can you believe) Ambre solaire through the door.
Also do check out No-AD. You wont see it advertisedbut it really is cracking stuff. they used to sell it in asda, and because theres no advertising, its significantly cheaper than even boots own. It protected me in belize, when it was blazing over 110 degrees.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
HI Sea
My kids are 13(x2), 9 and 6 and they are usually very good at helping out and would be well up for a bit of dance-and-dusting. DD1 is in fact a brilliant cleaner and sometimes cleans for me for money, and DS likes nothing better than to be given a damp cloth and a surface to wipe!
The main thing I need to sort out is where things go. We are woefully short of storage (strange house layout means no halls, cupboards etc), the youngest two sleep in a room with literally nowhere to put anything except under their beds. I need to do a serious project deciding what we need and where to keep it, because until that is sorted 'tidying' just means putting things in neater piles.
OH is sorting out his shed today, a major undertaking, and I hope I can capitalise on that to get a bit of order in the house as well.
Sorry to clutter up your sparkling thread! Hope the colleague has shut up now, would you tell him that you disagreed?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I know what you mean about clutter, the kids birthdays are two weeks between each other and we are now cluttered up again with the toys they no longer want - so I have a box that we need to start filling for ebay AGAIN!!!
Yes I often tell my colleague to shut up (perhaps too much), today I am being restrained as it is just us in. He doesn't always get my sarcasm and as he is on brew duty today I don't want to upset himI have even offered him a homemade chocolate chip hobnob - aren't I kind.
If only flylady worked at my desk, it is a tip!
Just been over to the freebies board and registered for free cinema ticket so I can take DD to pictures :j Thanks Lynz0 -
Sun cream does deteriorate or lose its effectiveness over time, you just have to treat it as a lower factor, until it is just body lotion
I think they say a couple of points each year. We have a variety of skin colours in my family, from my red-head celt to partially west-indian with a bit of chinese, so I've used BIG number stuff, the next year it suits present-OH (keeping him on his toes here) and then DS's, After that DD, who would rather use cooking oil, so I tell her that it's so out of date it's just moisturiser now0 -
Just got my bannister to do - blimey, listen to me!! I sound, well, like a housewife!!
The children are now making a picnic to take on a bike ride to the local woods. I dare not go and see what they are taking, but they are happy!!
BAUK, any chance of chucking a home made chocolate hob nob my waySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi there
Well done on your debt busting, and your flyladying! I wish I could get into that, but my house is so much of a tip, that I would need 3 of me to make a dent:rolleyes: !
Ref sun tan cream. Most of the bottles I have seen have a once open sign on them (jar with the lid off) and a number. I believe that is how long they are good for once opened. I have got some Boots factor 25 here, which has an 18 months shelf life.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
