It has been all go at the Skint Ritz today.

Gotten myself in a bit of a tangle again. Raced around downstairs to get ready for HV, dragged remaining shopping into kitchen to cook and put away in between. No show on HV, I must have got dates wrong, but as I waited in all afternoon I missed going to library, library is only open certain half days per week (thats what you get for living in the behind end of nowhere :rotfl:) so now books are overdue.

Before I could ring to find out about HV, DD2 rang in blind panic saying Student Finance emails sent out and we have missed deadline, so she was rushing back to get home so we could sort it out.

The deadline is actually 31st May, but I thought it was all sorted, but there is a glitch online that they cannot resolve, so DD2 now has to do a paper application instead, so I will hound her to get it done then send it special delivery.
But on the upside I forced her to consider her student accommodation realistically, so that is submitted awaiting approval by Christchurch Canterbury.

In my bargain from Mr M on Tuesday eve, I managed to get 3 x £5 bouquets for 9p each, I love flowers but EX was never the type to buy them, so the young Skints don't think to buy them either.

In hindsight it wasn't my best move putting the yellow flowers in a big vase in my room (the vase normally sits on top of DD4 tall chest of drawers with an artificial gerbera in it) DS has a fixation with yellow, cue one vase toppled over 3 broken stems and water in every single one of the drawers and a soaked carpet underneath - AND I still caught the vase with half the water left in it :mad::mad:

Valli would be proud of the "cook two freeze one" marathon that has been going on in the Skint Pitz kitchen today, my food processor has had a good workout and my bingo wing on my right arm has almost disappeared from the hand mixing too

3 punnets of Stuffed mushrooms (to an old H@rvester recipe from my days in their kitchen when I was but a young Skint myself ;))
10 apples worth of apple sauce and pie filling
5 veggie and lactose friendly miners pasties (1/2 bag of potatoes, two bags of casserole veg and 5 apples decluttered :money:)
one baking tray of crumble topping loose baked ready to sprinkle
1 mixing bowl full of couscous with toms, cues, onions and pineapple
60 cake pops with raspberry centres
6 cake pops with mini marshmallow centres
6 cake pops with pineapple centres
two sandwich trays of sponge cake heavily laden with raspberries
stirfried vegetable mix and beef strips (tonights tea :))
two baby-milk cans of home made breadcrumbs made with Mr M's cheese topped round flat loaf, parsley, salt and pepper
6 bags of sliced mushrooms for quick pizza topping
6 bags of mixed fruit ready for smoothies on the quick or defrost for brekkie (yes more raspberries, blueberries and pineapple)
10 bags of usable portions of .....RASPBERRIES
10 bags of usable portions of Blueberries

Gave one pineapple, one punnet of Blueberries and 3 little punnets of ....RASPBERRIES to DD2 to take round friends house for them to creatively blend with alcohol (no exams tomorrow, so wants to let her hair down:eek:)
I still have two firm but whoopsied pineapples to use, so tomorrow I may do a sweet curry as I have some curry paste blends to use by 13th. Also plan to do some spinach quiche from scratch, and either celeriac mash or celeriac soup, I have a red cabbage, so I might end up pickling that (I haven't done home made pickles for best part of 20 years ) I have two punnets of peaches so I will either portion up and save for smoothies, or I might look for some Morrocan type recipes and use peaches instead of apricots. A punnet of nice looking brussels may end up just boiled with dinner tomorrow.

I have half a Galia Melon, which will require my attention, but sadly the watermelon was a non-starter and went straight in the compost. Not bad for £4.50 worth of fruit and veg, minus £3.10 coupon very MSE :money:

    Right, time to sleep now.

TTFN flyladies and flygents  hugs, stick, spoons, GWS and non scratching vibes to all in need
The cold never bothered me anyway

    Good morning ladies.

DH has booked us a half term break and I will be on a plane 2 weeks today. He got a really good deal and just did it on impulse (not like him). We will have to take DS2, DS3 and DD2 out of school for 2 days before they break up but that's not the end of the world.

So I have 2 weeks to get the house beautiful, lose half a stone and worry myself silly.

Not working today so I will have a good go at the lists.

I've not read back as things have been manic. I will catch up later. Hope everyone has a nice day.

skint that was a marathon baking session - i take my hat off to you (or would if i wore one)
thank you for the good wishes for our friends sons partner. (its just such a shock when some one so young and healthy looking gets such a devastating diagnosis.) I havent got my head round it so how our friends and the girls family are coping is beyond me. shes a lovely girl i got to know her though the martial arts club DH helps run with his friend as his sons and her come to that. praying things arent as black as so far painted.

off to find the lists busy hands stop my mind from brooding

Mumto5 - how nice enjoy your break - my hubbie will be in Cuba for a work jollie for all of half term - I shall be dealing with DS2 and prep for his hardest AS paper, DS1's final prep for his trip to the US and DS3 being bored because it ishalf term - enjoy!

Breezy and sunny here so towels on the line as rain is heading in.

Off to the shower and to ensure DS1 is awake as courier due this morning and he is on opening he door duty.

    Morning

Wowzers Skint - I'm most impressed. You got LOADS done there, and what a bargain :j

Did the Full English for OH for his Birthday. 2 x Pots, washing out and now back in as the rain has arrived. Washed 3 open shelves in the kitchen and decluttered a few odds and ends.

Just done a HHA in the study and filed lots of letters and gibble. Good job really as I have realised that OH's van insurance ran out on the 4th so that's something else to sort today.

Spent most of yesterday downstairs doing the lounge and kitchen, so today will be mostly upstairs i.e. bathroom and hoovering.

DD has pulled off on half of her curtain rail and it's sheared off the bracket, so will pop into town later and replace it.
