HUGE congratulations to the Valliboy!
The other half of the sitting room carpet has been washed and the front window and most of its surrounding woodwork has been washed. One more stair has been scrubbed. Three of the corners in the sitting room are a two man job, so they will need doing at some stage, but not by me on my own today. The shower room has been de-stinked.Better is good enough.0 -

WOOT!
Bedroom and spare room all sparkly, and some back numbers of Companions (PDSA magazine) and Wolf Print (UK Wolf Conservation Trust) filed away in the box designated for this purpose.
Chocolate mousse has also been made, for tonight's pud - dins will be Quorn fillets with white wine sauce and chips - Mr LW cut the chips last night and left them in water:A so I just have to bung them in the chip fryer, fry the fillets and make the sauce. I might just chuck a halved tomato in the pan with the fillets, too.:drool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

This does enough for the two of us.
Melt a chunk of butter in a small saucepan - probably about 2 oz. Add some sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, and a very large pinch of dried mixed herbs. Stir in roughly a heaped dessertspoonful of plain flour. You now have a thick paste. Gradually add white "vin ordinaire":D (I currently have Ald!'s best offering) and stir over low heat til you get the consistency you want. I'm guessing it's about a quarter pint of wine, possibly a tad more. Add it very gradually, and you'll be fine.
Sorry it's so imprecise; but it's very forgiving, you can easily add a bit more wine if it comes up too thick.:o
COOK'S TIP: If you're left with a tiddly-widdly bit of wine at the bottom of the bottle, pour into a glass and consume, as it's not worth putting back in the fridge.:D:rotfl::beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
that sound just my sort of recipie i tend to guesstimate rather than measuring most of the time. thank you, ill certainly be trying it soon.
