I wandered around looking at things for a bit until she went to chat to the girls on the tills but as soon as I started putting my items through the SS she was right beside me at the till. Asked if I needed help and I said no thanks but she just stood there at my shoulder. Didn't help that I only had 3 BB creams so she probably knew what I was going to try.
I felt so intimidated with her looking over my shoulder I actually bottled it. I had scanned the 3 items and had my purse open to take out the SS voucher which would have given me £8 off and the 200 points voucher but I just said I had changed my mind and left them. So embarrassed. That store will have me marked down as an idiot or worse a potential criminal.
Let us know if anyone finds the glitch still works and I will try to get a single BB cream with the £8 off later this week. Won't have the nerve to try 3 again.:rotfl:
same thing happened to me yesterday in Kingston branch and the SA kept looking at my screen and didn't allow to use more than one voucher so i ended up paying normal priceand that was the only store with SS close to me.

Hiya do what I did Its only intimidation send them off for items that may potentially embarrass them and also if you shop with one of our pals get them to distract them with stupid questions- and I wonder why my other half thinks I should be. Hustler!0 -
I was in the ballemenia store (both tower centre and fair hill ) thinking they had self serve - but nope just normal tills! Was gutted!
I had already done a lot at the Coleraine store no problems . Happy with all my new treats - but my boyfriend said sure u don't need any more make up xx:j I'm getting married on 22nd Febuary 2015 :j0 -

May I suggest that you try using a manned till in the kennedy centre in west Belfast- I have educated them:D:D:D
I have also done the glitch at the ss in Donegal Place- you are doing nothing wrong here:)never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -
Edinburgh peeps, are there any SS tills anywhere apart from the Gyle? I am pretty sure Princes Street branch doesn't have any. What about Craigleith?
I don't know if there are any others, but Boots at the Gyle kept me busy yesterday LOL
I had 2 glossies to start with. On my way past SS tills I managed to womble 1 SS.
2 bronzers
1 BB moisturiser.
put them through SS till, added all the vouchers then tried to scan my "double points all your birthday month" voucher. Big mistake. I had to call an assistant. Oops. But I needn't have worried. Because all the sale up to then was already credited to my advantage card. She took me to her till and put the card through. Total £2.70 came up. She said I'd got a bargain there, and took my money. She uses as many vouchers as she can for deals too. I also got another glossy.
Next I tried
1 tinted moisturiser
1 bronzer
1 P&P hand cream
used SS tills and all vouchers went through
£1.25 to pay
Another SS voucher received.
Tried next one with
2 tinted moisturiser
1 P&P handcream
£1.25 again, but SS voucher didn't register, despite blowing on it, poking at it with my advantage card, and even putting a dropped receipt though too.
This time a helpful male assistant came to help. He kept putting in his login code to let me add all vouchers.
I still seem to have 2 ss vouchers in my purse.
I'm not going back to the Gyle tomorrow, too much petrol and don't have any glossies to do £16 vouchers. But I'll go to my local branch and see what I can do with those.
I've gained almost 800 points over 2 days as well.0 -

Title should be how to lose SA over shoulder/hover
I am really sorry to hear re anemones experience but after the Waterloo I wanted to be prepped when I went into another store in central London Anyway I went and bought some items 3 bb creams 7.42 result Then decided to go upstairs to where all cosmetics were kept
CHecked out bronzers so got 3 and was about to pay when a male SA started hovering I looked him straight in the eye and said oh good you're here can you get me some panty liners I forgot them He went Red and embarrassed by the time he returned with them I had already paid and got the sixteen off
I had 2 more sets as in 2 glossies and 2 SS ones. Got nails done and went back in afterwards and used them and no hovering this time so you know what to do to get rid of busybody
Alternative is check out store layout and what product is at the furthest corner from self service till so if there is. Hoverer actually take control say I am glad you are here please go and get me said item by the time they come back you'll have paid ;-)
Very sound advice! I had 2 x bronzers and 1 eyeshadow pallete and the total was higher than i hoped after my tillspit and glossy being scanned. I sent the hovering assistant off to get another bronzer and the bill went down to £6.50 - Horrah
I also have a voucher slot tip - as well as wiggling another card to push them in the slot I had a selection of other advantage point machine print outs and if it was playing up after i had inserted the correct voucher, i followed it with a dummy voucher so it made a happy beep and did not attract extra attention!
Thanks to the OP, Belletshoes and all the posters it has been an education and lots of fun!:T0 -
Buy one get one half price on No7 make up still showing online and 342 across whole range of face and body starts today (had an email) and includes No7 so could still be a goer today!0
-
Are the vouchers still being given out today, TIA0

Just bought BB cream and bronzer for £2.70 so can confirm that's still working but the tillspit I got (SS checkout) was for hair care so no more no 7 vouchers?
Oh and signs were still up for the 3 for 2 deal but as I have already spent a lot in Boots this week I thought I would limit myself, so can't say if it was working. This was at Liverpool street.0
