I went over too and they came up with some story about the staff are sent emails by head office if they notice "cheap" transactions going through tills. I said well explain to your head office that your tills aren't programmed properly as they are allowing both vouchers to be used AND ss till spits (although I've never had any of those). I said have they not read moneysavingexpert.com? If they are aware of these glitches why don't they do something about it to stop it happening again? She didn't know the answer to that! I came away feeling that my card is now marked and they'll be watching out for me next time a glitch occurs. I'll have to find a different store.....Cup of Tea? :coffee:0

I have a lovely glossy voucher in my purse which is a shame to go to waste but I don't dare hand both vouchers over as I know the SA would refuse.
I am sure they will have all been made aware of this glitch and told not to accept both vouchers in one transaction (as stated on the Terms on the back) so doubt anyone will have any luck on a manned till now.
Obsessing about remortgaging and interest rates all day, every day:)0 -
I dnt think that was very clever... Next time maybe go to HO and tell them exactly how the glitch works and what others are getting.
We should be thankful for all those faults in their system that we all benefit. If not allowed to use two vouchers, just turn around and leave and try in other store.catswiththumbs wrote: »I've been to the Durham Market Place store and the first SA tried to persuade me that I should do separate transactions ie use the £5 voucher off the tinted moisturiser and then £3 off the mascara. For the Belfast gals - the Yorkgate Boots staff have now been educated as well!!!never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0

Was there any need to tell her about a glitch you couldnt even use because of not having the voucher?
I guess you wanted to make sure if you had trouble getting it no one else was going to........
The SA annoyed me because she was making out that I was trying to steal from Boots, the fact that I mentioned the glitch when it has been mentioned on here all week in the public domain won't make a jot of difference. Boots will be well aware of these glitches, the SA herself said that Head Office email the staff and know about Martin Lewis and his website and all the glitches. They obviously don't try hard enough to stop them do they??!!0 -
Ive been to my local boots today and got the three items i wanted, but more importantly needed
Cant work out how it was calculated but happy as i got 37.70 worth of stuff for 16.73 so happy
I had the shiny vouchers so bought some hair conditioner and chewing gums (to get over the £4) to get a spit out one, but unfortunately the tills were free and the assistant called me over ..... basically i bottled it haha! So couldnt get spit out ones too, but had shiny ones already (she didnt give me anymore)
I originally bought a No 7 BB cream and foundation and a Lip Laquer, full price 37.70 .... went to self checkout and it accepted both the vouchers and the total came to 22.17, thought not a great bargain but needed it so paid and left shop.
Realised i'd bought the fair BB cream and wanted it for my holiday so went back to shop and asked to changed to medium BB cream, no problem (they are sealed), then the assistant said she didnt think the foundation i'd already bought would be suitable for my skin (it was a matt one, really thick) so i changed that one too for a more expensive one .... she put the refunds and new items through the till and i thought i would have to pay more, but got a refund of 5.43, she wasnt happy that the till was saying i should get a refund as the foundation was a more expensive one, she wanted to get someone else to look at it ! But i joked and said if thats what the till says lets go for it, and she did!
So have ended up paying 16.73 for all three items that i wantedCant work out how, but im happy, thanks all for the info
(full price would have been 14.00 for foundation, 12.95 for BB cream and 10.75 for lip laquer)

I suspect that will be something to do with the bogohp on make-up, if the SA put both those through at the same time, you're getting the cheapest item half price, so if she'd put each refund amount through at full price, you'd be due change back.

I think the sensible thing to do in Boots when faced with staff who are, after all, just following the terms and conditions on the vouchers (ie one per transaction, can't be used with any other offer blah blah blah) is to smile sweetly and say, "okay then, thanks I'll leave them".
We know the items are glitching, and we know about being able to use 2 or 3 vouchers together - but we are working against the T&Cs of the vouchers - thats what Bootsers do.

I need an Intense volume mascara, bronzing pearls and soft and soothes cleanser. I have the two glossy vouchers do you think it would work on these products.
not all together - because the 342 won't kick in.
You could do the bronzing pearls and mascara together, then use both parts of the glossy voucher to give you £8 off after the bogohp offer has kicked in.0
