for anyone having trouble feeding vouchers into the slots at SS tills - blowing on them after inserting into slot, pushes them further down more easily than using a bank card - so the till registers that one's been popped in ;)

Just wanted to say a big bouncing bucketful of 'Bootsy' thanks to Balletshoes!

You have been fabulous with your time and patience with everyone. And Bootsy knowledge!

Very much appreciated! You and others like you are what makes this forum the fantastic place it is! x

I agree. Thank you Balletshoes. This glitch was difficult to follow but soon understood with your help and realised it was easy. :)

I went back to the big boots in Belfast after work and to the other set of self service tills. No use - there was a SA watching them like she was on a mission.

I wandered around looking at things for a bit until she went to chat to the girls on the tills but as soon as I started putting my items through the SS she was right beside me at the till. Asked if I needed help and I said no thanks but she just stood there at my shoulder. Didn't help that I only had 3 BB creams so she probably knew what I was going to try.

I felt so intimidated with her looking over my shoulder I actually bottled it. I had scanned the 3 items and had my purse open to take out the SS voucher which would have given me £8 off and the 200 points voucher but I just said I had changed my mind and left them. So embarrassed. :o That store will have me marked down as an idiot or worse a potential criminal.

Let us know if anyone finds the glitch still works and I will try to get a single BB cream with the £8 off later this week. Won't have the nerve to try 3 again. :o :rotfl:
  • Thank you for this glitchy goodness! Managed to get 1 x hot cloth cleanser (read reviews comparing it to Liz Earles) and 2 x tinted moisturisers for £1.25 I've gave one to my mam so extra brownie points for me!
  • So I cheated a bit in that I have a staff discount, but I just bought:

2 x Batiste dry shampoo (£2.62 each after staff discount) to get the ss voucher
    1 x Garnier Olia (£6.24 after discount)
    3 x No7 bronzing pearls (£7.71 each after discount)
    1 x No7 bb cream (£10.04 after discount)
    1 x No7 Trio concealer (£3.68 after discount)
1 x Perfect Lip Pencil (£5.23 after discount)

and used: 2 glossy vouchers, 2 ss vouchers.

Total spend for all of these: £8.99, saving £63.03. Unfortunately I forgot to get the 200 points voucher, but all in all I'm pretty chuffed! :D

That's the store I was in on Sunday. Indeed, when I was using the SS tills, there was an SA hovering at the till next to mine and she kept looking at my screen everytime it asked me to put in yet another coupon....I nearly bottled it too! :o She didn't say anything though, thankfully, just kept watching. It was very nerve-wracking! I wonder if it's the same one, or if they were told to look out for customers with No7 items at the SS tills...

That is terrible, did this happen in the Boots beside Waterstones? I find that branch has a really high number of job-worths in it.

I was in the Tower Centre in Ballymena just before it closed today and managed to get 2 shops - first time no bother it was all scanned and the 2nd time I prompted the SA to take the 2nd coupon (which thankfully she did). It is amazing how different staff attitudes are in different branches (if I had gone to the Tower Centre branch I really doubt the staff would have taken both coupons).

    Hi all

Title should be how to lose SA over shoulder/hover

I am really sorry to hear re anemones experience but after the Waterloo I wanted to be prepped when I went into another store in central London Anyway I went and bought some items 3 bb creams 7.42 result Then decided to go upstairs to where all cosmetics were kept

CHecked out bronzers so got 3 and was about to pay when a male SA started hovering I looked him straight in the eye and said oh good you're here can you get me some panty liners I forgot them He went Red and embarrassed by the time he returned with them I had already paid and got the sixteen off

I had 2 more sets as in 2 glossies and 2 SS ones. Got nails done and went back in afterwards and used them and no hovering this time so you know what to do to get rid of busybody

Alternative is check out store layout and what product is at the furthest corner from self service till so if there is. Hoverer actually take control say I am glad you are here please go and get me said item by the time they come back you'll have paid ;-)
  • Edinburgh peeps, are there any SS tills anywhere apart from the Gyle? I am pretty sure Princes Street branch doesn't have any. What about Craigleith?
  • Magicbucks that is hilarious!
