    Good afternoon everyone,

angela - where did you get your eyes done? ive often wondered about laser surgery, but worry about it going wrong!!!

Crazychik - hope you head feels better soon, its been dragging on now, hasnt it. xx

Well, had a delivery from DHL today, and it was my new Lulu Guiness bag and top!!! They are both lovely, but i wont use a big white bag (considering its worth £399, i would be scared to!!) so its going on ebay, so fingers crossed i will get a lot of money for it. the top is lovely too, im keeping it, 1 because ive never had any designer clothes before, 2 i dont think i would make much for it on ebay and 3 it is so pretty!!!!

LOs have all been good today, did manage to clean the oven and bathroom and toilet, but thats about it (oh, did strip DSs bed and that drying outside now). Hopefully will get a bit more done in a bit.
Right, better go, have to collect DD from art club, another one from junk band, but not DS (also junk band) as he is going to a girls house for dinner!!!! Hes only 10, im sure its all very innocent.

Take care, have a great evening xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Cat,

I used Martin's tip and went with Optimax - originally bidding on the ebay price of £895 for both eyes (see feedback http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/russellambrose)!

I also spoke to everyone I found out had had the op for their opinion!

I had epi-lasek with wavefront technology (bit more pricey - extra £600) which seemed the best option for me (I apparently have thinner than average retinas and a few bumps on my left eye). They put "bandage" lenses in to allow the eyes to heal - these stayed in for three days until my checkup.

I had excruciating  pain for 24 hours, but by the end of day two, my right eye was pretty much painfree and 20/20!

The left eye was a little more sensitive (it always was with contacts) and initially a bit blurry, but four days after the op, this had improved substantially. I am still using antibiotic and antiinflammatory drops in both eyes. The aftercare also seems good - I had one checkup after 3 days (its different depending on the treatment) I have another checkup in two weeks.

One week on and my sight is fab! I simply can't get over how quickly I recovered - having worn glasses since I was 14!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

AMIE Phoebe is not at all well. She has a awful cold and can't swallow her anti -biotic so I guess its back to the Vet tomorrow. Spoke to them today and they are happy to let me decide as I have had a lot of expierence(far more than ideally I would like to have had) with poorlies. She is currently wrapped up in a fleece blanket in front of the fire. Thanks for asking.
Catowen there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that having my eyes done was both the most scary and the best thing I have ever done. In my case my perscription was right at the top of what they could treat. Additionally I have an astygmatisim(SP) which makes it dificult. In fact I was told by 3 different opticians that I would never be able to get it done. Anyway I did, and as I said before I am still delighted and thrilled every time I wake up. Please feel free to PM if you want any more details.

Catowen , my friend had her eyes done, and she said its the best money she has ever spent.
She was so scared but told everyone she was having it done and this made her not back out. She hasnt regreted it once.

Iv had a strange but nice day, ds1 had bad headache when he got up so ended up staying at home, not got much done really, washing baskets cleared, house tidy, but am in a cant be bothered to cook mood, she kids just had pies ( 9p each reductions bargins from mr ts) and mushy pies with gravy and mint sauce, and i plan on treating me and dh to a indian later, one of their set meals for 2, we havent had take away for months so thought id splash out lol.
Other than that not much to report, paid loads of bills which strangely always makes me feel good, and are off later to pick bricks to finish off our patio as dh hopes if weather good to finish it next weekend.

Anyway im going on again, have a great evening all

    Aft'noon all :D
Had an absolutely wonderful day :j The delivery arrived in time for me to make my lunch date (not in time for the walk though) and we all had a really good time.

Interestingly, it transpires one of our group admitted that she has no chairs/sofa and sits in a garden recliner to watch TV of a night!! Who knew?? Well, clearly that is not a good situation to be in :naughty: Poor lass has been long term benefits with a child with special needs, but even so, I think it's dreadful in this day and age! She's well educated, works hard doing voluntary work, but simply cannot get paid employment :(
Sooooo, the rest of us have now got our ears to the ground and will be scanning Freecycle to see what we can come up with for her. I just found it sooo sad!!!! If push comes to shove, I don't even mind buying her a suite from one of the local 2nd hand places if we can't locate something on Freecycle - I was just so shocked and saddened for her. I know she has periodic contact with her family (mainly mother, who sounds quite a ... er ... character! ;) ) and I'm just appalled her own mother hasn't given her more of a hand  Oh well, you live and learn.

But, it did brook an interesting conversation among the rest of us ... who else needs something ;) Well, thinking about it, I do have some bits and bobs in the loft and now I have found prospective homes for some of them :j :j = two birds with one stone methinks :D

Tonight I'm going to be making a batch of jam crumblies for the packed lunches - so quick in the microwave and the oats in them means they make a good "fill 'em up" treat

D11yo is so excited about his new bedroom furniture, he's done his own Flylady 27 fling boogie ... but could in fact be awarded the 1001 fling boogie expert :rotfl: He has trash bags for tomorrows bin men; charity sacks and put-away-until-furniture-assembled bags. Ah the motivation of new stuff which spurs them in to action ;) :rotfl: Not that I'm complaining!

Catch up with you all later

    Hello everybody,

Late post for me today but I have been on the road all day. :D We're in Ullapool tonight. The trip down was stunning and we stopped in a million places, hence the late arrival. We will explore the place tomorrow before setting off again.

Scuzz Try and get to the bottom of it. (((((hugs))))

Kyle I hope your sore mouth won't interfere with your baking :D

Cat I got my eyes done ages ago. Twice. The first time it didn't work well. The second time they did it for free of course BUT it's not that pleasant an experience. I hated the smell.
