    Hello,

I haven't posted on the daily thread before...so just posting to say hiya to everybody, really. I'm being a very bad OSer today because I have forgotten my packed dinner and am going to have to go to the very nice but expensive deli across the road (no chance of going home to pick it up because I live 60 miles from work. grrrrrrrrrr!).
At least I have planned tea -home made fish cakes and peas - can't wait!
Other jobs to do today are, garden (thin out lettuces and herbs, tie up runner beans and general watering and feeding) about a ton of washing including hand washing which I HATE and quick wipe over the bathroom. Its making me tired thinking about it. Ah well, best get back to w**k.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them. Will backtrack and read all your doings shortly!
For those of you in the OS insomniac club who've been using lavender Holland and Barratt currently have quite a good deal on their lavender oil so might be worth a quick looksee.
Am very happy oldstyler today as my boss has given me an unexpected £200 bonus as a thanks for an area of the business that I have been trying to improve our success in. I viewed the extra effort as just part of my job but it's nice to be appreciated!
OS has been quite productive for me this weekend as made lots of savings in MR T and lots of extra points via mobile phone recycling and old cartridges from my Employer. Should help the old clubcard account as they won't be persuading me to spend anymore instore....been on this board too long :rotfl: and picked up too many tips for that
Managed to get the garden tidy..we filled it with loads of 20-50p plants we picked up from fetes last year and everything is thriving and the good news is that my one extravagent £8 plant that I thought had expired is just peeping out:T Don't much care for the garden but it is looking really pretty just now and am quite pleased that I do make the effort even though I cuss and swear whilst doing it!!
We tried the famous cabbage galette on Sat eve [thanks GR]....delish.
OS today is not going to be quite so busy...bins and recyling have gone out. Beds made etc etc. Shall update the monthly accounts tonight and catch up with my best friend who I cancelled last week because I was snippy and quarrelsome!!
    Have a good day folks!

    Hi everyone1

Hugs to everyone who needs them especially Kyle and Scuzz

I went out to a Tapas Restaurant last night with 3 of my oldest friends. We all started in Infant school 34 years ago and have remained friends ever since. I had such a laugh remembering things we'd done over the years and moaning about approaching 40. Anyway, the food was lovely and after a few drinks I slept like a baby until the house alarm went off accidently at 4am, still not sure why.
So today I walked the girls to school then went to Aldi and Asda to do a modest amount of shopping. Tea tonight is roast chicken, roasties, cauli and carrots followed by strawberries.
The weather here is nice so I've managed to get my washing dry but the forecast for the rest of the week is for showers again!
    That's all for now, bye.

    Hi Patentgirl,

Yeah I do travel an awful long way to work - it takes an hour and half each way. 1/5 of my wages go on travel which means it is taking me quite a long time to pay my debts off BUT i do love my job (just not the city I work in!) and it pays quite a lot better than the same job in Manchester (where i live) so I guess I will just have to put up with it just now.
One of the good things about it is that it really forces me to be organised, i have to have my evening meals and packed dinners planned otherwise I waste valueable non work time wondering round the supermarket or my kitchen aimlessly.

    Good Afternoon All

A quick one before I do the school run
Headache still there. Its just making me very tired and drained at the mo!

Had an interesting day at work, I found out that a girl who started working in my dept about a month ago, is a relation of mine! We worked it out that we are 3rd cousins. Her dad is my dad's cousin. Anyway - Ive proceeded to text my dad to inform him of this, and that Im able to get hold of the family tree dating back at least 5 generations. I know my dad is doing the family tree, and I hope that this is a step forward to breaking the ice between us!

Had a nice warm welcome home from Charlie, he was the first cat to come down stairs for a fuss. He's itching to go outside, but I know its too soon to let him out. But Im debating whether or not to try him! He is chipped and does have a collar on with name & number!

Dinner will be left over's from yesterday. Plenty of lamb left and I dod extra veg too.
Must crack on with housework after the school run.
Will catch up with todays news later.
    Bye for now
    Love Emma xxx

Hi everyone - late one from me.

Went to Lidl's to do the shop early this morning. Its my first day back at work since my break, so I wanted to get online early.

Was (I'm so sad) happy that it was a bit chilly today as have been pondering how I was going to use the lamb chump chops so its stew tonight currently sitting in the SC! Will put dumplings in in a bit.

I also have spag bol bubbling away in the other SC ready to freeze (might make a lasagne for tomorrow's dinner with it as well).

Quite a few reduced prices in Lidl today, but I was good not to buy too much meat as we still have half full freezer drawers!

Have got various out of freezer to cook up this week as my being away the last few weeks has meant OH has eaten all the HM ready meals I had prepared for him!

On the list: chicken casserole, spag bol, shepherds pies, fish pie, lamb stew.

Am also thinking I might defrost the pack of puff pastry that has been in the freezer and make a salmon wellington for Thursday.

My new eyes are officially one week old (had laser surgery) and they are fab!

Groceries came to £60 - should last us three weeks though with the addition of milk and a little veg when required.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Wow. what a day. Have had friend helping me put boxes up into attic, and put rubbish into shed ready for trip to tip. Flat now looks a bit bigger than before, and attic is finally organised. Needless to say, I am feeling well pleased with myself.
Dinner tonight will probably be a quick, easy pizza. Cant be bothered with anything too fussy.
Hope you have all had a good day. Will catch up again with you tomorrow. Sleep well all you Lavender Ladies! ;)
    LG

P.S. A big thankyou to Mioliere, and a belated big thankyou to Amie, both for the Weetabix Brownies recipe. Will be trying them out on Friday.
working hard at this thing called life
