Just saved £250 and will get £70 cashback via Quidco (over two policies) so a total saving of £320! We switched from Admiral multi-car to Axa single car policies and we got a 10% discount when insuring the second car on a separate policy but at the same address. This was just a bonus as we both found Axa single car policies to be cheaper than Admiral multi-car without the 10%.Best wins; GoPro, £2K, Brittany week, festival tix twice, Bath break, Sweden spa break, iPhone x2, £250 Amazon x2, tech bundle, 55" TV, Haven break, £1K, Smeg mixer, 3 night spa break, Greenhouse, posh tent, house plants, 2 pairs boots, posh mattress, year tailored supps, £250 lingerie, £150 buyagift, £250 hotel0

Just saved £300 (over half!) on my renewal quote. Thank you MSE. :-)I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

Just got a quote from comparethemarket.com and the two lowest quotes are from Esure and Shelia's Wheels. Both beat my renewal quote and both appear to be invalid.
Going over the details both sites state my Employment Status and Industry as "not disclosed" and that's even though I put them into the comparison site. Also when I correct the missing fields on their respective sites it bumps up my premium to well above my renewal quote.
So now I'm concerned that some people will have taken out insurance and not be covered; a condition of their insurance is that all provided information is truthful and complete but they still seem to allow people to purchase insurance with the "not disclosed" fields(!).0 -
Could "Not disclosed" mean "don't want to tell you"?
And the insurance company has still quoted based on that information, so should be valid?0 -
The problem is that one of their terms requires that the information provided be accurate and complete, which it obviously isn't given the " Not disclosed" sections.
Also I suspect that in the event of a claim they will seize on the missing fields and use that as a basis for refusing to pay out.0 -
If you take out a policy and discover that it is unsuitable - you can cancel within 2 weeks at no loss to yourself !!0

True but if you need to claim...
Also some insurers will want a written explanation as to why you've now got a gap in your cover.0 -

You would still pay for the time on cover and potentially a cancellation fee. The cooling off period is not free. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
Thanks for the great guide on car insurance :T.
I've always done the comparison sites but with insurance going up so much this year they weren't that competitive for me. My renewal notice came through a couple of weeks ago and it was DOUBLE what I paid last year, this is with 6 years no claims!
Thanks to the guide I ended up going direct with Aviva and also got £50 cashback via Quidco, saving me a whopping £320!
Great work guys, keep it up!

I followed the guide on MSE and saved over £400 from my auto-renewal quote. The old me would've just accepted that.
My car insurance was going to run out tomorrow and my auto renewal quote for RAC was over £300 more expensive than the year before, for no reason!!! So I followed the guide on this forum; I got costs from 3 different comparison websites and then phoned the 3 companies which aren't listed on the sites. I then went back to the RAC and asked if they could get the price down, to which the answer was no, So I then contacted the cheapest insurer which happened to be Direct Line and asked if they could shave off a few pennies. I then checked for cashback and Top Cashback offered £21.00 off when paid annually. By the end of it, I'd saved just over £400!!! Delighted.
