Take the text of the FOI request to the CAB and get them to clarify it, they will (if you ask nicely) probably write you a letter to take to your provider and the jobcentre, and will fight your case if they try to sanction you.

Hmm, you go back into the WP , it's the only thing theycan think of to do with you. Incidentally, my 2 years are up in a couple of months (no nearer to a job than when I started) and I expect they will throw me back in :)
The JC have no idea what is going to happen to us returners yet as they haven't worked that out.

My Jobcentre advisor told me I would be one of the first "returners" (to the jobcentre after the two years WP is over) and I would be the first (as always!) on a new scheme "work for your benefit" where I would have to work for 30 hours for a "charity"

Done it all before, on the New Deal, (A4e) in fact I have done it FOUR times!

my adviser at the work program said after the 2 years is up you will not be coming back to the work program, the job center will send you to a4e or another similar course.

Eh? Of course you wont be going back to the WP as its only for 2 years. You go back to the JC and A4E ARE the WP!!

No course will get people a job at the end of the day and the WP has failed

That's just as useless as the WP!! How will 30 hours a week for charity help anyone get a job! I have 5 employment references from an accounts manager up to a CEO of a large hotel chain so I have no idea how this is going to help anyone.

The unemployed need interviews and the WP have no contacts, no experience in accounts work and no idea of anything as the majority of the advisers are my office where I attend are in their 20's and I am not being ageist but they have no idea what its like to have 20 years work experience or have a any clue about what I used to do in my career.

The DWP/JC/WP are a total waste of time.

To force someone to work for charity is slave labour.

My WP provider have over 2000 people in their office each week and I have spoken to a lot who are coming to the end. I would like to know where the JC are going to find say 2000 charity placements in a few months time in my area?

Also surely charity work is voluntary so can not be forced to 'work' for them with no wages and before someone pipes up you get JSA, how about paying the NMW for this 30 hours a week 'work'!!!

I hope that this 'work place' is insured for people from the JC to 'work' in etc

Who is going to pay your travel or lunch money etc? Some people go without food in this day and age but when you have to work all day you are going to need to eat too and who is going to pay for that?

I can tell you I have not had breakfast for over 6 months as I have no £ to buy it but then again if you are not working you don't miss it I guess but have had to go to hospital with bad chest pains and was told off for not eating breakfast - or course I never said why,

And on another note can the 'charity' turn you down for the so called placement?

I have applied to many charities for PAYING work so if I was not good for that I surely wont be good for this either!

What about if you have a criminal record, drink problem, sacked from last job, walked out from last job etc

Will they still want you? I wonder
