I've just had a paper bag delivered in place of my 'free gift'. Called them and they said that they can't send out 'free gifts' therefore there is nothing they can do.

What do they mean they can't send out free gifts? Damn! I knew I should have ordered via PayPal and that way I would have claimed my money back for them not having completed their end of the transaction!

There seems to be a very mixed bag of responses from boots here. Mine only got dispatched yesterday so still hoping for the best

I haven't picked mine up yet I may just leave them in the shop if everyone has missed out.

mine is ready earlier so may go and pick it up. don't put any hopes and ready for a refund. as don't want any may be one day...we will look into that... and so on.. will update later if i do go to collect

Hey Ladies
So I emailed them on Friday and got a response Saturday. All I was offered was 500 points added onto my boots advantage card. Obviously I wasn't happy with that as the gift was worth so much more and looking at the lady who got a gift card, 1000 points and got to keep the item I didn't think it was fair.
SO, I have just rang the customer care team and spoke to a guy called Tom. He said it is a known issue and anyone who calls the customer service line, their details will be taken and they will be contacted with a resolution in the middle of next week. So I think its best for everyone to ring. You seem to get more of a response, so hopefully something can be done and we all get the same resolution.

a little update...well no surprise here... no freebie with my mascara.staff were nice though gave me lots of different freebies including marc jacobs plastic bag, versace samples(in a box so can be used as a stocking present for Christmas)and lancome bi-facil 125ml (by the way i did not asked them for it ) still it's not what i wanted to get, so they phoned customer care for me and told me that they are aware of the problem and it's not just me who never got the freebie ( as if i do not know ) also was told that customer care would contact me next week to try to solve it. well....i decided to keep the mascara until the end of the week and took all those freebies home. let's see what their customer care gonna do for us all. i don't hold my breath..guess they are just trying to find a way out :rotfl: but i can always get my refund :rotfl: no loss here

Will they let you return make up?

He told me on the phone you can return it. I told him obviously i wanted to keep it if i was able to get the gift but also if i wasn't able to get it i would want to return it. He said that was totally fine as to just hang onto the item for now until they get back in contact this week.
Has anyone heard anything new/different from boots?
