leave it to ebay, if his threat and all confirmaiton of what it was has been made via Ebay, then Im sure they can react accordingly to any threat of Feeback extortion.

stay calm and polite and tell him to open a case for INR , return it fully tracked (he will obviously need to do it special delivery due to value) and you will refund in full once it is safely back.

The threat of a neg means you can get it removed as feedback extortion if it gets nasty.

With any luck he just won't bother returning it, and if he does do not offer to refund his return postage.

It's got damaged in his possession, and he's admitted it, so that definately isn't your problem. Keep all your evidence, and stick to your guns. The police won't be interested

what can i do about his wife damaging it?

I don't think you should worry about that at this stage - wait and see if he even returns it first.

I would not reply to any of his messages now - just wait and see what happens.
