Has anyone had any luck regarding finding decent cases for their nooks? Are there any other ereaders/tablet (similar dimensions etc) cases that generally fit a nook?

I picked up a leather case from HMV for £2.99 that is meant for the Kindle 4/Kindle Touch/Kobo.

    Fits fine.

That's great, but you haven't said which store you saw them in.

Download and install Calibre on your PC (if you haven't already got it):

    http://calibre-ebook.com/download_windows

Then download the DeDRM 'tools_v6.05.zip' from here:

    http://www1.datafilehost.com/d/e290f19f

Make sure you un-tick the box that says

"Use our download manager and get recommended downloads"

Then click on the smaller grey 'Download' box (not the large black 'Download Now' box) and you will get the tools with no virus warnings (the download manager that this host site is trying to include with the tools generates a virus warning).

'Unzip' the file - lots of freeware 'un-zippers' around like 7-zip if you haven't got one i.e:

    http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Then it's the 'DeDRM_calibre_plugin' folder that you need - just follow the instructions in the 'DeDRM_plugin_ReadMe' document.

You can then load the kindle book into Calibre and convert it to epub

    Complicated - but it works.....

Thanks for the info on the plugins - I must say that making the free books on Kindle usable on the Nook ST would be great. I'll give that a try.

btw. If others have been using sites like the Gutenberg Project to get free ereader books (they are well out of copyright) in epub format they may have noticed, like me, that these don't necessary natively work on the NST without some tweaking - *but* if you re-process these via Calibre using the Convert Books option (even though they may already be in epub format for the NST) they will then work perfectly on the NST. *note Calibre during the install/setup routine needs to be told which ereader you plan to use it with.

btw2. I've been creating my own epub format ebooks using eCub (a simple .epub creation tool) and providing you follow the rules the books it generates are ok, *but* need the reprocessing in Calibre (as above) to make them work on the NST. eCub is free from http://www.juliansmart.com/ecub

If anyone knows where I can get a NST then I would be grateful - ta.

I live in London - there are no Nook Simple Touch models anywhere are any store or online.

Does anyone know where I can get one?
