Hopefully she's done this because she's heard all the stories on here and decided that a few minutes of her time with a nurse's hand up her mooer every three years is worth it.
Done the same in her DT threads too, and deleted all her posts so we all look like we're talking to ourselves :rotfl:

I find they tend to frown on you laying there with a glass of wine in your hand and your legs akimbo in my surgery
don't know about anyone else but I'd spill it in my face trying to drink in *that* position lol... maybe a lidded sippy cup is a better idea?
They wouldn't notice anyway so long as you were correctly pruned ( foof topiary anyone?) toes painted, toe ring and jingly anklet..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
My daughter at the age of 25 attended her first smear test and they found abnormal cells. She had to forgoe any plans for starting her family until she had treatment and was in the clear.
I'm so glad she was screened and treated early on.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Fwiw I can drink while lying prone. It requires very unattractive lip position, but its possible. I have had far too much practise.
But a sports drink bottle would do the same as a zippy cup and probably be more socially acceptable for those of us who have no kids.0 -
I think if I walked into the Nurse's room with a children's sippy cup full of wine, I'd be more likely to leave with an appointment with a psychiatrist than a completed smear test!0

Well, some have felt the smear was compulsory, so chances are you would get both. Top and tail I guess.

And to think that some people complain about the NHS - and you reckon you'd get two appointments for the price of one!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I don't even want to know how you discovered that little 'gift'

Just to give this conversation a boringly sensible turn, I've been known to take a thermos of tea with me to medical appointments. If I feel a bit wabbit coming out I'll sit in the car or on a convenient bench and have a cuppa, just to calm down. Caffeine enhances the effects of paracetamol/ibuprofen too, so it's all good.Val.0

I have just received my first letter and am hoping they can do it at the same time as my depo (which is usually done by nurse). I had a very similar 'procedure' done a few years back when I had trouble with cramps. I have to say it certainly wasn't the most pleasant experience, but definitely nothing a *large* glass of wine and a piece of galaxy can't fix!
I have mine done at the same time. Not every time of course, a smear every 12 weeks would be a bit OTT! Its still only a 10 minute appointment, if that.0
