I 've read this and all 28 pages of the main FlexDirect thread.

I want to open one of these, for the promo interest rate, and I want to do a transfer via Quidco or TCB for the sake of the extra £70 cashback. I happen to have a sacrificial bank account with a DD already setup, which (account) I was planning to close anyway, so the plan is to switch this account.

The problem is that the account is a small business one. As far as the switching process goes, do business bank accounts differ? Will Nationwide be able to tell the type of the originating account (I don't really plan to use the FlexDirect against its T&Cs) and if so, will they throw a tantrum or something?

Also, just last week I got a credit card. My available credit to income is still very low and my credit history is just fine (albeit short). I don't need an overdraft, so I don't plan to ask for one if that helps, but is Nationwide likely to reject the account application due to the very recent search?
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep recession...

Have you read the transfer T&Cs? I haven't, but I know that the actual account T&Cs preclude business use. No idea whether their switcher service will identify your old account as a business account. If they do, they will with 100% certainty not throw a tantrum but they will probably let you know that this transfer is not possible. It's a matter of trying.

Again, it's a matter of trying. They may accept your application, they may reject it for various reasons. Who knows.

I did, and it does include the typical clause: Part 1, 5. The accounts can only be opened by individuals and must not be used for business purposes.

Just looking at the terms on QuidCo and I've noticed this.
Get £70 cashback when you open a Nationwide FlexDirect account and transfer to Nationwide from a non-Nationwide current account using their Account Transfer Service as part of the application process (no transfer required)

What does this actually mean? Do i even have to transfer from another account if there is no transfer required?! I'm massively confused by this.
  • Chances of me getting one of these accounts with a bad credit history?

I have just done the same before setting up the transfer

I was actually looking to open the account anyway (For the interest) so the £70 is a nice bonus!

does anyone know if this will work to get the £70 on Top cash back?

Anybody have any success with this? Mine tracked back in June but the estimated payment date on Quidco keeps getting put back. :(

Mine was confirmed last week too - after I'd already switched to the premium account (I needed the various insurance covers).
