Tried to get the refurb box for free today after threatenening cancellation but all they offered was the bew one for 49 pounds.

The chap said that the refrub for free offer had been pulled the previous day as they had run out of refurb boxes.

Do you think this is true and I should go for the new one or just wait and see if the refurbs re-appear?

Hi I was wondering if you guys could help me.

I've just signed up to Sky. The man is coming around on Friday to put it all in.
I have Sky PLUS and the speak and see deal.

I am paying 50 pounds a month for this deal and 129.99 installation fees, it should have been 170 but they waived the fee for sky plus installation.

Obviously I would like to get some discount on this, do you think this is possible>?
If so would you wait until everything has been installed then phoned within the cooling off period or try and get a deal BEFORE the equipment has been installed?

What would be a reasonable deal ?
I was thinking still paying the 50 a month but no upfront fees....

I have rang 3 times and they would only offer me it for £49. It's always worth a try but is frustrating when others have got it for free! I'd say give it another go. Good luck!

Just tried as an existing customer and they wouldn't budge. They said the half price Sky+ offer was for customers who'd been with them for 10 years(as I have) but it's expired.

The only offer he was aware of was Sky customers for 6 years can get SkyHD for £199 (£100 off).

Looks like I'll have to pay £129 :(

if they say no then just say you want to cancell, you will be then put through to the cancelations department, and im sure they will offer you Sky+ for free, give it a go.

When i wanted a sky+ box a couple of weeks ago , the only way to get one totally free is to go straight to the cancellations dept., you will find that customer services cannot give one free. Also i was told that the sky+ box that i was getting was an old box but it was brand new, so i was very happy.

Is it advisable to take out the £5 pm warranty? I got a letter saying that my sky+ is no longer covered by warranty even though I have only had it for a month
