Some of the new PVR3 have this issue... They also seem to be prone to randomly deleting programs as well. It was supposed to be cured with the latest software upgrade as the first one that added ANYTIME was to blame.

Hi there you are definitely a mine of information. My Thomson box which has replaced my refurb pace, will not show sonething we have recorded. My refurb pace box had only been put in for 10 days and then broke down possibly as we did not have the phone line connected the sky men said. I was not told it had to be connected for the whole time, have had to drill holes and feed line through garage to get to phone box. Definitely worth it though so much easier.

Does sky plus box always need connection to phone line??0 -

2 questions...
Can you watch a channel though sky and record another channel at same time?
And on phone they said to get sky+ I have to be a paying subscriber to a sky package for three months (£15 per month their cheapest), then after 3 months I can cancel the subscription but will have to pay £10 per month for the next 9 months to use sky+
After 12 months is up, according to website I will have to carry on paying £10 per month forever to use the recording features of sky+ box. But when I asked them on phone, guy said after 12 months I would not have to pay £10 per month, I could use recording features free. I don't know who to believe. Anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks for the info PrettyFlyGuy, I'll try giving them a call today - since it ends today! In regards to the phone line connection: It doesn't need to be connected all the time. Although for pay services, such as Sky movies (pay per movie) it needs to be connected so that it can 'call out' and charge you. :!:0

But when you get the new SKY+ box you enter into a 12month agreement that says you DO have to connect it to the phone line...
Can't see how they can check this
When I had my digibox fitted a few years ago the engineer (indep installer)left it up to me to pin the cable for the phone line. Removed it as soon as he left
In the installation info it says they will not lift up carpet to hide the cable - so I suppose if you say u want to run it below the carpet they have to leave u to do it after they leave0 -

Sky will ask for your box to do a call back (the same way the software update is done through satelite). If the box doesnt phone back they will send out a warning letter telling you you are in breach of the contract... They can also stop the recording feature using this method as well..0 -
My Thomson box which has replaced my refurb pace, will not show sonething we have recorded.

Heres a quote from the Sky ANYTIME team
Some of you have mentioned a problem which results in certain Sky Anytime on TV programmes failing to record. We’re pleased to confirm that this problem should now be fixed following our latest software update on 19th April.
A small minority of you have also mentioned experiencing system faults such as empty planners or being stuck in stand-by mode after the software upgrade to your Sky+ boxes. If you experience this, please switch your box to stand-by mode and reboot your system by switching it off at the mains and then turning it back on again after two minutes. If this fails to rectify the problem please call customer services on 08702 4040400
