I am SO peed off rihgt now!

Just called Sky and asked for the cancellations dept and said I wanted to cancel. Been with SKy approx 7 years now so well out of contract, OR SO I THOUGHT!! I opened a Broadband account with them a couple of months ago, didn't get the 3 for £26 deal as 'they didn't have any left' in my area (!). So, as far as I was concerned I had two separate accounts with Sky one for Broadband and one for Tv.

Anyway, they now tell me that when I opened my broadband account I also entered into a new TV contract! No one said anything about this to me at the time! If I'd known I was enting inta new contract I would've haggled fora better deal, especially as I'm paying full price for the broadband. MOney grabbing, cheating b*******s!!

I'm in the same boat as you and I also didn't realise this.

Cant wait till Jan mind as believe me I will be screwing them for a very good deal or they can stick the lot of it.

Oh no wish I had seen this before. My Mum had sky fitted about 10days ago but didn't know about this offer as she wanted sky+ but couldn't afford it. Do you think that they would let her upgrade for free as it is so soon after she had it fitted or is she banging her head against a brick wall?
  • just phoned up and and gave them the code sky+iaf and friends details got my free box and install, well chuffed thanks for the info

Who would want sky+ anyway? I know someone who has it and it is rubbish compared to a V+ Box, if you record something and pause live tv, it cancels the recording! shocking!
V+ from Virgin Media lets you record 2 channels and waych another AND pause/rewind it at the same time because it has 3 tv tuners.

I have a very good reason for having a Sky+ box rather than Virgin media V+ box.

I don't live in a Virgin media area and the nearest street to me with cabling laid is 5 miles away!

    Quidco : £858 :)
    Pigsback : £20 and a Beatles CD.

    lol, never thought of that...

I would be tempted to ring Virgin up and ask them ifg they would cable your street, I have been told by a VM Engineer that now Virgin took over they are looking at expanding the cabled areas.

I was thinking about going back to Sky for a while (wife was fed up with not getting E4, Sky1, UKTVGold etc any more), then we received the flyer for the free Sky+. We're not in a freeview area, and Virgin work out more expensive for what we need, so...

Got our free Sky+ box and subscription set up last week. They gave us a brand new Thompson box, as they had run out of refurb boxes. Loving the recording, really getting the most out of Sky now!

    Recommend it to all!

But... if you ring up VM they would have beaten the price quoted by sky.

Ummm ... no it doesnt... I can record one program and pause another. I can also pause and rewind whatever Im recording as well without it cancelling the recording.

That is a good feature. Does that mean I could watch SKY ONE and record Sky two and Three????
