Thank you so much for this. I have been reading the other thread on here about Sky+ and phoned to cancel on Friday. Ended up just reducing my monthly charge from £26 to £18. That was on Friday. The man knew nothing about any Sky+ offers, or scapping of the £10 a month charge.

I have just phoned the 01506 831781 number on here and said I still wanted to cancel, as we are not in when the programs are on. Lady said she would put me through to Cancellations and the man at Cancellations ended up offering two deals. One is a brand new Sky+ box and installation for £49 or refurbished box and installation for free. Free box is under warranty for 12 months.

I ended up going for the free box as I thought if it stops working, I will just phone to cancel.

They are installing this Saturday!!! Cant wait!!

    Thanks again!!

Hi everyone, posting this hoping it helps any sky digi subscribers looking for a totally free upgrade

After reading several threads about the sky+ offer leaflet, I thought I would give it a go. Rang 08706080431 and said I was calling about the free sky+ offer (I didn't say I'd actually recieved one  ), lady said 'oh, so you were with sky previously?', I said we are with you now (2 mixes £15 per mth) and also for broadband (£10 per mth) then just left it at that.
She took my address, confimed our current package, said the offer is a free refurb sky+ box (with a 12mth warrenty), free installation and the £10 sub waived for the next two months then scrapped altogther. Then she said 'when would you like it installed?' :j
Result! Engineer coming out this friday

Hope this helps someone, I may have been lucky with who I spoke to as she was really lovely and friendly

    Its annoying ain't it.

I have just brought myself a nice pace 80gb sky+ box of ebay for £51 and a kit which included a new lnb, dish, cable and a galvanised bracket as my mum is nagging me that she keeps having to repaint that side due to the rust coming of the current bracket for £47.

I guess I should be able to get about £50 on ebay for all my old bits so in theory it will only only cost me £50 to upgrade to sky+ with the box I wanted and on the bonus side the box is actually mine and always will be and I don't have to plug it into the phone line all the time which usually mucks up your broadband.

Just phoned and got it free for my parents -
it took me ages to argue a free upgrade yesterday for myself but when I phoned today for my parents (pretending to be my Dad) they offered free box and installation with no fee for sky+ staight away leaving them on their £18 per month package -was on the phone no more than 5 mins.
not sure how much they'll use it but it's a free upgrade with 12 months warranty so what a bargain...
