No, I defended myself from his continuing assaults by restraining him and removing him from the cinema.

You see it pop up when the OP is made and expect just a couple of replies and yet it is still going strong days later.

1. Don't know the definition of assault
2. Think someone continuing to cause you pain by kicking the seat you are relaxing in after being told to stop is "just kicking the back of your chair".

Well putting aside your obvious temper issues.

I would say that physically restraining someone and then removing them from a cinema is assault.

I do not believe that "kicking the back of your seat" justifies a physical retaliation.....

I've also no idea what point 5 is!

As I said - you obviously do not know the definition of assault, so you would be wrong.

I would probably have complained to the manager and requested a new seat.

I don't believe you should lay your hands on another person unless there is no other option. I believe in this case there were other options.
