Im not going to buy it as I can get all the recipes I need online, but I do know she has a link on her page where you can order her book cheaper than from amazon, its from an independent shop.

It's cheaper on amazon - £9.09 against £9.45 on her website.
  • I hope to get it when I'm a bit less skint. If anyone deserves a bestseller it's jack. I'm amassive fan of her writing and enjoy reading her stuff in the guardian

I agree retromother, I think she deserves it too. I love when she rants on Twitter about foodbanks and food poverty, she makes so much sense.

I hope her book does really well, she's worked so hard to change her life and I admire her for it as well as loving her recipes!

    Hi
I've not come across her before so I'm to enjoy looking round her website so Thankyou for this thread but also wanted to say please support your local independent bookshop if you can. I know it may it may be a little more expensive but only 36p !
There is alot of controversy around Amazon these days in terms of how much tax they pay in this country and their employment practices whereas local high streets are struggling.
Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now.

Was dearer on Amazon last time I looked
I'd only buy it if it ended up a lot cheaper in sales, I have loads of cookbooks and don't really need another one.
  • I was debating buying this cookbook as well, but if I do will definitely go the route of the independent bookshop. I'd prefer to put my money into more local businesses, rather than towards Amazon, as another poster has mentioned due to their business practices.
    Saving, decluttering and doing alright.

I agree, & if my nearest one was near I would have. I had already looked at it previously & my nearest isn't near. I was quite shocked at the time how few independents there are.

I've had it in my amazon basket for ages, It's been the same price.
I have zillions of cookbooks & I'm only buying really great ones in future, i suspect this will be a great one :-)
I usually buy them & then the book club do them at a silly price. I can never figure how they can sell new books so cheaply, I could understand if they were older, but they do new titles too.

I probably havent looked in a few months, its been on pre order for ages.
  • Just realised that tomorrow is the day that the book is launched. Ordered it a while ago. I'm really looking forward to getting it. Anybody else pre-ordered? I'm wondering what new recipes will be in it compared to her blog. Have found some fab recipes on the blog already so have high expectations.

Know it's not particularly `old style` to buy the book but I'm a real sucker for a cookery book I must admit!
