Hi All
Saw this young lady this morning on the BBC and wanted to share, this is from the article below
-producing healthy, delicious food as well.
Jack Monroe, 24, is a single mother whose delicious recipes, published online, are so nutritious and thrifty that they are being handed out by food banks as examples of how to manage on next to nothing. Her blog, A Girl Called Jack, has gathered 16,000 regular readers. She has a budget of just £10 a week to feed herself and her two-year-old son, Johnny – all she has to spare after covering rent and bills.

Why is she called "Jack"? Time was that was a bloke's name. "Jackie" was the shortened version of Jacqueline.
I find life so confusing now.0 -
Really interesting site - recipes look good!!! Thank you Jack for being sooo honest. I want to say so much to this woman and others in this situation but how can you without it sounding / coming out wrong?
The system can be sh*t can nobody really knows when its going to hit them.

I too have tried her recipes and they are very good ,she is apparently going to bring out a cook book via Penguin so I look forward to seeing it I do admire her for just buckling down and making the most of what little she had .She has done very well to sort out her life and get it back on an even keel again Well done to her .She was also on radio five live on Saturday morning as well.I do like how she costs things out so you have a good idea how much its all going to come to and with a few herbs and spices manages to make something out of very little. An excellent blog to follow0
