Ordered Sunday (28th), arrived an hour ago. (That's my weekend planned!) :)

I can't see the dimensions listed on the page, but a couple of photos here which might provide perspective:

My daughter aged 10 has been looking to buy one of these since Christmas, with her Christmas money. THank goodness we were too busy to get round to it until now. We (errrrr, she....) got the purple one with turquoise detailing and it's a little belter. Very easy to use, lightweight and perfect for everyday home use.

I have what I think is an earlier JML version of this and I could never master loading the thread. If nothing else this has made me determined to have another try - I'm actually tempted with this though as from the sound of it they may have made it easier to use (searching online I found lots of people with the same problem as me last time.)

Just had a quick measure, and make it :

    11.5" Wide; 9" High; 5.25" Deep

(Taking into account all protrusions, IYSWIM).

    :)

Stupid question I know but...... Can I buy any type of thread for this or does it need to be a certain thickness and size of spool? I have never used a sewing machine in my life but fancy having a play, so have ordered one in blue. I would like to get some thread ready for when it arrives - I was looking at this bundle. Would it be any good?
