SAMSAM - doesn't matter what size yoghurt pot. A big one will make a big cake and a little one will make a little cake! Just make sure you have the right sized cake tin before you start mixing. I worked out that the standard small pot holds 150gms so you can use that as a base and weigh the ingredients instead of using a pot. Must go - mine is ready now!

So it doesn't make any difference - three eggs no matter how much yoghurt you use?

We are all Arsenal fans in this house - and we will be cheering Chelsea on today - the only team we hate more than Man united is Tottenham, so Chelsea get our vote today!!!!

DS has just gone over to his friends house - he is a Man U fan, so will be interesting!!!

Ok, I thought I'd just wing it - I had a 500g pot of yoghurt needing using so I followed the recipe and put 9 eggs in instead of 3. Have made 2 large loaf tin cakes, 1 small tray and 12 fairy cakes!! Maybe I'll use a small pot next time - cake anyone!

    Hello everyone

Apologies for my very sporadic visits to Old Style lately - I seem to have lost the oomph to read and post as often as I used to. I hope it's just a phase I'm going through! That reminds me, welcome back to MrsMortenHarkett, it's lovely to hear from you.

The weather here is "changeable" so one minute it's lovely strong sunshine then suddenly it's raining cats and dogs. That makes it impractical to put any clothes out to dry. I'm not too fussed on going out into the garden though as next door is putting up a new fence. Maybe I sound like I am the standoffish one because I'm obviously avoiding him at the moment, but he and his wife quite literally look at the ground when I happen to meet them at the front of the houses when parking etc. Now they are erecting a big seven foot fence all around their garden, so there is no chance at all of making eye contact. It's fine though, if they don't want to be friendly who am I to argue!? The fence will enhance my privacy here and it's free to me wooo hooo!! Also it's not going to make any difference to how much light I get as the sun shines in from the other side, so double wooo hoo! LOL I am going to look at a house in a bit - just to see the outside and the location etc, as I am rather fed up with my neighbours and their comings and goings (these are the neighbours opposite). They had some twerp on a powerful motorbike visit at around 1.00am and he let his bike idle outside for about 20 minutes. This is fairly typical of them and their visitors and it's so inconsiderate.

Emmy - size one feet! Gosh, you must be a dinkie little lady. Have you a proper old fashioned cobbler near you at all? Such a person would, IMO, have the skills to repair the damage to your shoe. It'd be a shame to have to replace your shoes, especially at the price you find yourself having to pay for them.

MrsMortenHarket, did I ever tell you that I met Mr Morten Harket and his two mates when they were at the height of their fame? They were eating in a caff in Heathrow and I ran over and got their autographs. Morten was very nice and polite, so it was quite rude of me to drool all over him as he's a rather fine specimen of a man...

Did I mention anything Old Style related? No I didn't, that's cos I've been sitting on my fat bum not bothering with it for a week or so now. Big cuddly apologies for being so totally off topic!!

    Bye for now.

Moliere - of course I will let EVERYONE know when I've knobbled the neighbours - can't wait!!!

But I am LIVID! Rang up to get the balances of all our accounts and found that one was £38 overdrawn  turns out I'd put my e-bay direct debit there and not from my main account and they not only declined to pay it but charged me £38 for the honour:eek: . In the distant past they have always rung me up when we were going to go overdrawn and told us so we can transfer funds plus we've not been overdrawn for ages and it was the first D/D to e-bay so you would have thought they'd have thought "hang on - better check this out". But no it's an easy £38....... well, I'm am so annoyed I am going to live up to Rich Hall's image of us English and "write a letter". Mr Rage laughed when Rich Hall said that when we saw him and pointed at me - I was :o I think I will point out that nearly 20 years with the bank, 10 accounts with them including considerable savings (which I will be moving but they don't know that) and "it would be such a shame to move from a bank I've always been happy with". I'll let you know how I get on - modern day !!!!!! Turpins they are - at least he wore a mask :D On a good note on the clearance end of the plant stall on the market I got a large purple perpetual wallflower (£1) - which caused no end of clucking from a bunch of old ladies on the bus, 6 large pansies (£1.50) and splashed out on a non-clearance "hot and spicy oregano" (£1.40) - I think I might add that to some HM burgers. Not going to do any weeding today though as I think when I was picking one of my shopping bags up I've done something as I had a stabbing pain and now my wound site hurts - so sofa it is for me (medicinal reasons of course!!) - although i have hoovered as how much mess can two budgies make in one day? Right off to contact e-bay to apologise and change my account details and to find the best savings account for our nest egg at the bank and then attempt my mountain of correspondence.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Is the new arrival coming today Crazychik? If so have fun. ;)

    :j Charlie's here!

We've been home about an hour now!
He travelled the distance quite well. No accidents.
He soon settled into DS's room, where I would like to keep him for a couple of days, so he can get used to the smells & noises of the house, before opening the door of the room and he venturing around rest of the house! Plus have to monitor the other pets!

We noticed he has a yellow stained back paw when we first saw him - I now know the reason for this, when he curls up in a ball, he uses his 2 front paws to claw & make his bed, whilst he sucks on his back paw - Awwww - How cute is it to see!

Happy Birthday to Mr GB - Enjoy your 60th party!
And anyone else who's celebrating today.

Ive been in town, and paid the monthly bills, and brought some tops for work in Primark.
A joint of lamb from the butchers for Sunday dinner.
Plus stocked up on toiletries from Wilko's

Im suppose to be going out later to a 30th birthday party, not sure what's happening just yet.

OH just checked on Charlie, he's says he's curled up in a ball on the bottom bunk, sucking his paw. This is too good to be true how quickly he's settling in, as normally they hide away for days!

Right, must go and sort more washing out.
    Bye for now
    Love Emma xxx

    Hello eveybody,

Just skimmed the thread so far so will go back shortly to read it all. We had a nice time at the dance last night. Everyone was so friendly and much to Mr AussieBlokes horror we were dragged up on the dance floor a few times by the locals. :D Got home around midnight. Was very windy here this morning so I finished off my souvenior shopping  :D and have just woken up from a wee resty.

We are going out to tea tonight so I've got a night off. Tomorrow is our last day here. We have loved every minute and it will be sad to go.

Kyle Sad to hear of your friends child. She must have had other problems. You may know as time goes on.

    Snowy You're forgiven. :D Just.

Crazychick He sounds adorable. Have fun.

Well off to have a bit of surf. Who won the soccer? I suppose the BEST team did. :rotfl:Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Don't often "second post" but wanted to say Welcome back Mrs Morten Harket :j and I've missed your posts Snowy Owl. ;) If we all shout loudly maybe Pink will come in from tending to her tomatoes and post too. :D

So pleased Charlie's settling in Crazychik!

I've been to see the house and I am in love. It's not much bigger than what we have now but has ample room to extend. It has 3 summerhouses!!! one of which I would use as an office and one I'd probably turn into a greenhouse, and a shed which would make a perfect henhouse. ;) Down a lovely country lane and only 100 yards from the shore. Can you tell I like it?? :o

Not sure if we can afford it though so need to do some sums tonight.

Enjoy the rst of your day everyone.

    Hello everyone,

long time no posting! I've been reading through the threads when I can though, so lots of *hugs* to everyone who needs them.

Life with me is mostly the same as usual. Working hard during the day, and doing lots of sewing and reading when I can :)

Trying to lose weight, as it has hit it's highest point now, and I'm not happy. Have managed to lose 4lbs in the last couple of weeks so thats great :j Getting married next year so really want to get it sorted out! :D

Today: got some shopping done, and a clear through the kitchen. The WM is on, and the TD will probably be on later too  Tea tonight will be chicken and noodle wraps I think, timed to be ready for Dr Who at 7.15pm ;) I might even have a drink with it!;)

*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please :D
