Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 19th May 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
everyone.
Well I was up at 5am and crashed at 9pm and am now wide awake again. Mind you the wind and rain lashing down is not helping or the knocking on the door at 1.10 am, no beggar there either.
Today the plan is to clean all the mirrors in the house inc. the full length wardrobes, and to clean upstairs before work. 4 beds need a change and the pole needs to be put up in the bathrooom. Then off to work. OH is planning to try and watch the cup final (no chance with the 3 LO's) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Work is extremely stressfull at the mo. as we are caring for a very sick lady with totally inadequate pain relief and this is proving to be distressing for her and all concerned. Sufficient to say that many phone calls will be made to the GP and out of hours GP over the next few days until this is sorted. God love her - if she was one of our pets we would be prosecuted for keeping her in her current condition. And rightfully so.
Today's lunch will be ham salad for us all, and for tea I have some neck of lamb out of the freezer and will pop a stew in the sc for them to have while I am at work.
Lots of
needed, having read yesterday's thread especially to Kyle, annibooklover and Mrs-mix, and whoever else needs one.
to Mr GB on his 60th and to whoever else is celebrating their birthdays today.
BTW I found this and it made me smile..............

How true.
I hope you all have a good weekend and will speak with you soon.

Hope you finally got some sleep Smokey! It is raining here too! Just hope some of it falls on the forest fires that are burning between here and Savannah which is where we are headed tomorrow on our road trip to see my Aunt and Uncle. Although I am looking forward to seeing them I will be relieved when we get back here!
Have rested up today and caught up with the washing and cleared up dd's room. She landed safely at Gatwick yesterday morning!
I have bought some lovely fabric remnants (some only 35p up to £1) for craft projects through next year and some great patterns only about £1.50
(((Hugs))) to Kyle I am still collecting leaflets and maps!:D
(((Hugs))) to Mrs Mix, Shez, Grannyboon.taplady and all who need them
Smokey I love the images of Mum, so true!

Good morning everyone.
Smokybabe, your work situation sounds very upsetting and I hope the lady gets some proper pain relief soon.
I'm really impressed with the baby. He slept from 8 last night till 4.30, had a quick feed and he's back asleep again. He finds getting to sleep really easy too. I think the gift of being able to sleep is one that can't be underestimated, for anyone, not just babies!
I want to give the bathroom tiles a scrub if I get the chance today. And I have to spend some time sorting out my car insurance. I saved a fortune last year by going through confused.com then ringing round. But as usual, the insurer has put the premium up by about 30% in the hope that I'll be too lazy to look around. I'll probably sort that out in a minute while everyone is asleep.
Cup final means I'll be on my own with the boys for a few hours so I might take them to the park if it's dry or visit a non football challenged friend to visit! Dinner today is Delia's roast tomato soup with basil croutons. Lunch will be baked potato with beans. Am going to try to have a 30 minute brisk walk on my own at some point as I'm trying to lose weight and we ordered pizza last night after a v stressful day. (I was so exhausted I got in the bath with my toddler at bedtime then refused to go back downstairs!)
The birds haven't even started singing yet this morning, though it's quite light. I hope the little blackbird that visits every day hasn't been caught up with by one of the cats. Edit: I can hear him. :j
Have a good day everyone.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Good Morning everyone.
It a really sunny day here so far. blue sky and only a few white clouds. Hubby has gone off to work and i'll just back off to bed i think. gonna have a lie in as it weekend. kids still asleep. ( touch wood)
The milkman hasn't been which is really odd. he always comes about 4. i am just hoping it hasn't been stolen. as a lady ver the road had her milk stolen 3 weeks ago. but saying that my milkman does generally put the milk in the porch out of sight. but it not there.
I have some washing to go out on line and some laundry to put away.
unsure what is for dinner. my daughter ( age 3) helped me last night make lamb and tomato pilaf. :T she is a really fussy eater and trying to encourage her to get more involved. and guess what she ate loads. with battng an eye lid. and she hates rice. so this was amazing. we also made a flat bread. and put a layer of tom sauce on it , dried mixed herbs andsome cheese. kinda live a pizza to go with it. also bear in mind she hates pizza. and she ate loads.:j so did my son/ but then he does eat anything and everything. i kinda thought maybe it a fluke and it cause she just hungary. but when my hubby came home and i served up his. she ate loads of that. so today i might be trying another new recipe. i'm having a very proud mummy moment.
don't really have much to say about the rest of house hold today. just gonna take day as comes i think.
wishing those with a :bdaycake: birthday a happy one
those in pain or poorly_pale_ get well soon

Hi all. SMOKY - loved the Images of Mother! Well, woke up once in the night then really conked out so feel as if I have had a good night's sleep! No rain here and the sun is beaming. Going to get to the Co-op for 8.00 o'clock then back to do the baking I didn't have time to do yesterday. Sold two out of four items listed on eBay so not too bad.
CRAZY - I am working on my T&C's so will pm them to you for your perusal - if that's OK?!
Seem to have another busy day planned but will try and drop in as often as I can.
Happy Birthday to MR GB and Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs SPIDDY. (((hugs))) to all who need or deserve or just want them!
See you all later! Have a great day!

Morning Guys!
Didnt sleep too well last night and feel exhausted.
Have a washload to get on in a bit, DW needs emptying but toilet is cleaned:D House is pretty tidy and clean. The floor needs a sweep through downstairs but I think thats about it.
DD has her drama class this afternoon for 3hrs then we are going round friends for dinner, so no cooking today;) I MUST finish my essay today and OH has some jobs to do around the house and garden.
If warm enough may have a coffee in the garden later. We need to sort the back step from the back door as I fell down it the other day as its very steep.
Might have a bash at making coleslaw today as I bought somr white wine vinegar
May pop back in later. Hugs

:hello: Goooood Morning fellow OS’ers
Help yourself to ((hugs)) if you need/want one, they’re free today
smokey – poor woman, that is awful! Hope they get her pain relief sorted pronto.
catznine - wishing you are safe journey tomorrow; wouldn’t fancy that road trip either. Great deals on the fabric and patterns :T
GR – want a great little one you have there; you are so right about sleep.
Pam – I sometimes task one of the lads with freezer duty = making an inventory of what’s in there. Then I feel all super organised for the next few weeks, until it all goes down hill again
jcr – how wonderful that your dd helping was enough to spur her into eating the pilaf :T No wonder you feel proud
Happy Birthday to MR GB and Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs SPIDDY
Kathy – well done on your Ebay sales :T :T
PP - hope you get that step sorted soon, sounds lethal! Enjoy your meal out
The sun is shining in all it’s glory this morning, really beautiful it is; it woke me up :rotfl: Nice breeze with it too, so I’ll be well away drying all the laundry today.
Had a great night last night (Warning: Proud Mother Alert!) and the highlight was .. d12yo was awarded “Most Improved Player” :j :j :j Their team has only been going to one year and they’ve all done so well. Almost made those Sundays standing in the pouring rain worth it
Cup final day, so the lads will be watching that, especially as d12yo is a Chelsea supporter – so d11yo has decided he’s going to support Man U today:whistle:
Haven’t decided what we’re eating today, so I should really sort that out. Housework wise, not busting a gut, just a basic hoover/polish/wipe down and then whatever I feel like.
Enjoy a moneysaving Saturday everyone:wave:

Morning to everyone already awake and all those luck enough to be still sleeping.
I'm up early as we are going to Cheshire Oaks to try and bag some bargains. We usually go once a year before we go on holiday. My OH likes to leave early because the parking is just mental later in the day.
Should be back sometime this afternoon because its my nephews 7th birthday party starting at 5pm. He's having a roller skating party and my DD (13) is worried that she'll look daft in front of the "little kids" because she can't skate. She was born with a condition which affects her balance and co-ordination so I've been [strike]emotionally blackmailed [/strike]persuaded into skating with her. Wonder which one of us will be 1st up the accident unit.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Congrats to anyone celebrating andto anyone who wants or needs one.
loved the "images of mother" smokey. The last part brought a lump to my throat.Useless x;)

Hi Every1,
Thx for the Mum thoughts Smoky - made me want to ring my Mum and tell her I love her!! She's in the south of France at the moment with my Dad and I can just imagine her bored out of her head while he goes off and plays golf. Sorry to hear about ur situation at work and I hope the ladies pain relief is quickly upped to the level it should be.
(((HUGS))) to every1 else who needs/wants one.
My DNiece stayed over last night which means that I have been up since 5:eek:  As if the usual 6-6.30 isn't bad enough - I feel like I could sleep for a week!!
I had my first appointment with my counsellor yesterday and I think it has helped me a bit. The main outcome is that I should get a dog - I know its strange, but I've always had dogs around and feel quite lost without one. I will just have to start incorporating the dog walking back in to my daily routine. I was thinking that as long as kids are up dressed and fed by 07.45 then we can fit a half hour walk in then. After work I can be back at the house in time to walk to school (rather than driving and waiting in the car for 20 mins) so I will fit a walk in there and then a long one in the evening after tea. We are going to go and have a look around the rescue later - I ideally want a dog that's aged over 4 and has lived with young children.
OSwise, I'm going to make banana cakes later, fold up washing, tidy kids bedroom, dust and hoover/mop downstairs.
I also need to buy new lunch boxes for DDs but I don't want to go to Asda as the temptation in Asda proves too much for me:eek:and I can't think of anywhere else that I would be able to get cheap lunchboxes from locally.
I opened a tin of sardines yesterday for the 1st time:eek:  there are fish in there:eek:  with skin on:eek:  - can sm1 give me a dummys guide to sardines pls coz I just put foil over the tin and shoved it in the fridge:o I expected to see smthing that resembled the inside of a tuna tin:p
Hope every1 has a good day,

Hi all.
Don't know what today is to bring!!!!????? Thought I'd be doing a church project today called community in action, where we go and do jobs for people in a neighbouring estate. Turns out I'm likely to be doing another sort of community in action with a neighbour, whose son I spent the most part of last night with in hospital. Long story. The mum has a few "problems" and was unable to be with him, so the police came and asked if I would go. I'm going back to the hospital with the mum today.
This afternoon we're supposed to be going into near by town to get a car seat ready for my grandaughter, who will be arriving from America with her mum and baby sister in two weeks time. They live there, and they are over here with us for a month :-) First time for us to see the baby, who will be 5mths old :-)
Tonight, I think we're helping with the Alpha course that we've been helping with the last few weeks. That's if the lady who come's along hasn't had her baby, which is very due lol.
Tomorrow is church, and chill out day :-)
Hugs to all. Have a blessed and prosperous day.0
