:j Hello everyone, hope you are all well, I haven't been around for a week as I've been poorly but I'm getting better now :T Haven't got much to say as I've been in bed feeling sorry for myself. I tried to read the thread a couple of times but just couldn't concentrate on it!

    OS today:

Making spinach and lentil soup, vegetarian lentil cottage pie and soda bread
Sorting out junk in garage for car boot sale

Other than that I will be ignoring the housework which hasn't been done for over a week now so ignoring it for a bit longer isn't going to make much difference;)

My OH has gone surfing for the day so I have the house all to myself, going stick my 'boogie' playlist on i tunes while I cook, then break into my secret stash of chocolate as a final fling before I get back to my usual healthy routine next week.

Hope you all have a lovely day!:D
    October grocery challenge(started 17/10/07):

Good morning everyone!!! Its a beautiful day here in Wiltshire. The sunshine is back at last. It's my fabulous husbands 33rd birthday today so I may have to treat myself to some cake (oops, need to make it first!!). Plans for today : weed the garden as the tremendous amounts of rain have made the weeds grow far too much. FA Cup watching for us too - last year I got a tad tiddly with pimms so that will not be happening this year (mainly due to the fact that I'm on a diet). Take kids out on their bikes as they haven't been on them for weeks and 6 years old was getting pretty good without her stabilisers. I hope she hasn't lost her confidence!! Apart from that not too much happening. I have decided to dec the dining room out with loads of candles and make tonight special!!

    Have a lovely day!!!!!

    Morning Everyone. :hello:

Read about your friend's daughter last night Kyle. It really is very sad and I am so sorry.

Well done on winning the trees Cat

Well done baby Gingham on 8 hours sleep. :j

Smokey I hope your lady is released from her pain soon. I remember just such distressing cases when I worked in a nursing home. icon9.gif

Is the new arrival coming today Crazychik? If so have fun. ;)

Hope you have a fab time Catzine

Well I awoke this morning to Dtwin1 shoving a severed bird's wing in my face.  God love her she thought we'd left a window open and a bird had got in a lost it's wing but looking at the kitten at the end of the bed who was licking her lips I knew better. ;)

I have no idea how she got it through the cat flap but there was a carpet of feathers on the stairs, hall, living room and kitchen but absolutely nothing else. No beak or feet or blood. Very odd and a nasty start to the day.
I decided not to log on here until I had some work done so the kitchen is cleaned, WM DW and BM on and whole house hoovered. :D

Haven't made beds yet but I should really wait until OH is up before I do that. ;)

Quiet day planned as it is very stormy here. Might do a bit of baking (if only flour didn't make such a flipping mess) And off to see a house later. We are quite happy where we are but I would love a bigger garden and room for some chickens. :o This place is a bit out of the way though so I would have to drive the girls to school instead of them catching the bus but it might be worth it. I'll let you know how we get on.

    Take care all.

Dh/kids off to the park to feed the birds, my legs are killing me after the last 2 days walking round the village, would be great if everywhere there wasnt so many hills, on the plus side it makes lo sleep all night, so cant complain!

Dh gave me news the other day, he has told me he will be off for the whole of july! what will i do with him, thinking of going away for a few days but little cash to do so, all our money is going towards florida! hmm maybe i will take twinks offer of taking the tent somewhere, just cant see how kids would get on though:rotfl:

Morning all...........back from our beloved France yesterday.......how we hate leaving............found it strange driving on the wrong side of the road when we got off the boat at Dover. Tom Tom did us very well, we only got lost once and that was our fault, she told us to turn when we were not on the road we should have been on, took us up a no through road............

The weather was not good....very high winds and lots of rain, but it did not keep us in, we went round and about visiting some really nice places and fab markets, especially the one in St Omer last Saturday. We bought veg plants from a very nice chap, I spoke to him in French and he spoke to me in English!! whats new???????????

Our wine rack is now nicely stacked, we also bought a couple of bottles of whisky as well as 12 bottles of chammpers for Lucy's party in August, got really good deal at £11.41 a bottle........lots of nice food now resides in our fridge and freezer including a large packet of smoked salmon for just over £2.50...........

Had loads of washing when I got back, did 3 loads last night and now have to go and take another load out of the washer, I will have to have a reccy in Tesco for their cheap washing powder and a couple of bags of washing soda to make another bin full of my washing mix, I made this last lot last August so its done me very well.

Carpenter was coming this morning, but he was called out last night to a roof that was lifting in the wind.......so still not cupboards in the kitchen and until they go up I cannot do anything with the dresser..........I bought a very nice unit to hang on the wall behind the sofa for the plates, and during my searches on ebay found a chap who will make me a plate rack to measure to go over the top of the stove for around £58, but I need the cupboards up!!!

OH playing bowls this PM. so will try and get some ironing done whilst he is out.........

A sunny morning but windy (so OH says) I have not been out. One thing I am pleasantly suprised at is that this place is so quiet.........never much noise, although we do live right at the end so only one person goes past the door and she is a quiet as a church mouse.....who ever designed the place made sure that bedrooms did not have a party wall with a living rooms, so that helps a great deal.

OH's cousins wife who was so ill finally passed away on May 6th, just before we went away, reunited with her sister, husband and three of her four sons......she was in her 85th year, so had a good innings, her son sent us the lovely obituary they had put in the paper...........made me cry..........she was such a lovely person, commited to her faith which sustained her to the end. Unusually for a catholic she was cremeated, when we were with her in 1998 we went to the mass for all souls at the cemetary, she had purchased 3 boxes in a wall, one had her husbands ashes in, one her sons and the third was for her, in the middle. There is to be a memorial service 6th June in her Church at Ventura, we are not able to go, but will be with them all in spirit, as are her remaining family in our thoughts and prayers just now.

Happy birthday to anyone who has a 'big day' today and congrats to anyone who has achieved something how ever large or small...............

    Have a good day

    Good morning!
i can't believe I made it onto page 2, it makes a change for me!. DD1 is at orchestra and I'm about to take DD2 to a birthday party in a minute. The plans for today are:

    1. take up the hall carpet as DH is going to lay a wooden floor (soonish)
    2. Make some chicken and leek pies
    3. make some lemon curd tarts
    4. put some bedding plants (if it doesn't rain)
That's all for now but I now the list will grow!

The postman has just delivered my 'I can make you thin' book/CD by Paul McKenna. I want to lose about a stone, but I'm not going to read it until Monday as I'm going out for a meal tomorrow evening.:rotfl:
Got to go, so have a lazy/productive (or both) day!

    Morning all
me and dd have been camping all night .... in the back garden. we have decided that we do want to try to get away for weekends this summer but without a car or money very light camping is our only choice. We used to go a few years ago but with so much stuff in the car that me and the kids had to get the train and meet exoh later :) The practice run proved that our tent is knackered, having a broken zip and only two pegs but we have seen a package including cooking equipment, tent and bedding for £75 so are saving up our pennies for that. She woke me up at stupid o'clock to listen to the birds which made me cry because prior to her ear surgery she wouldn't have been able to hear them! Kyle I can't remember how old your kids are but there are plenty of sites with entertainement, swimming pools etc if you think they will get bored otherwise. do what we did - camp in the garden and see if they like that. For our first trip out we are going to go to Arundel Youth hostel which means that we can use their toilets, showers and kitchen if we have to.

May Fayre at the school in a bit - it is sponsored by a local estate agent and they put loads of signs outside which made us think the school was for sale :) and then back for the match although we have no interest really in who wins but in the closed season i try to watch as much footie as possible to get my fix :)
middle daughter and dgs stayed over last night - she is still sleeping and he is in the naughty corner for screaming at his auntie - will go and wake his mum in a bit so I can get on - have a nice day all :)
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

bit of a change of plans for today . well i didn't really have any plans to start off with . lol.:rotfl:

but hubbys wage slip has come. and it the most he has ever brought home.:j so i have done up a budget and paying loads of things off. but i am only giving myself a food budget of £150. as i have our 6 year anniversary :happylove this month and mil birthday. :bdaycake:

so i am gonna spend day going through cupboards , working out what i have .( have loads as have been so bad on shopping last few months.:embarasse , see the grocery challenge  ) and then gonna get my recipe books and mags and get daughter to help choose things to keep her involved.

also natwest sent a letter today ageeeing to refund my hubbys bank charges. :j . they refunded on ur joint acc only a few weeks ago . so mega chuffed.:T

i gonna even do a meal planner for lunch so everything is inculded. on the upside. hubbys building site has got a mircowave now. so he can take in left overs from meal day before and also jacket spuds. which will really help.:j
