So to be clear, I just completely ignore and wait for them to go away ? It is my vehicle
Yes if that is what you want to do. There is a minute chance that they could try court, but it can easily defended, and it would the first one I ever heard for these jokers. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Stroma's advice is good as its highly unlikely this company would try court. So if you can laugh at their threats they might send you continue to ignore.
Some PPC's seem to be picking on 'ignorers' and sending court papers out but statistically it would be highly unlikely for any ticketed parker.
I like the POPLA route simply because its costs them money.
If you wish to ignore go that way.
Every time they send you something post here. When they eventually go away, likewise.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -
Be aware that they have contravened the BPA AOS in one respect at least.
They should offer a 40% discount. £60 less 40% is £36, not £40.
If you do decide to appeal to POPLA - and that means wait for any follow up letter before you "appeal" to the PPC - then that's the first breach of the BPA code. If you look at the BPA Code of Practice in the AOS scheme, you will probably find lots of others too, as well as a proper challenge to their right to charge you in the first place.0 -
Ok - So I wait for a 'pay us NOW' letter, and then I appeal to POPLA on the basis they haven't given me a 40% reduction?0

You can't appeal to POPLA without a code. You get the code from the PPC when you appeal to the PPC. You only need a soft one, but there are a couple of ones on here that are simple, to the point and request cancellation of POPLA code.
In the meantime, you should get a few more contraventions to be sure. That means reading the BPA COP sections on signage, and check that the car park's are "compliant".
That's the first thing.
Then you need to look at the various time constraints that the PPC needs to adhere to.
Have a read of the thread that is current referring to an article in the Guardian as well.0 -

You can only go to POPLA after the ppc scammer has rejected your 'appeal' to them. The ppc should send you a code for POPLA. So wait for the PPC to write to you. If they do not do so within a certain time there ticket is void.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -
For record this is the front and back of the ticket given to me:

So - I do nothing at this point. Wait for letter from LPS. Then I write an appeal (what on earth would I put into this?). Then I wait for that reply. If rejected, go to POPLA stating what?
After getting the ticket, I looked around and their were signs everywhere. It was entirely my fault that I missed it. It was an important meeting with somebody and I was so focused on what I was doing at the meeting and what I would say I didn't even notice the signs.

Just wait. There is a great soft appeal letter as supplied by either Stroma or Couplon-Mad (I think) that I am sure they will reproduce for you. Gives nothing away and is very business-like and to the point. If I had more time, I would look for it but why not look back a couple of days on their previous posts?0 -
You can still ignore them completely, but if you want to go to popla then send something like this.
Name
Address
Date
Dear Scammers
I want to appeal your invoice xxxx at xxxx car park on the xx/xx/xxxx . I admit no liability to your company, and require that you supply me the contract that you believe allows you to issue these invoices.
Without such proof i require you to cancel this invoice immediately. If you reject my appeal, I require a popla verification code within 35 days of the date of this appeal, per the BPA code of practice.
I have no further information to provide to you, so consider this my final position to you.
Sincerely
