LPS Parking Ticket

The only thing I would do differently than that letter, is not prompt them for the POPLA code! Just let them forget that and they'll miss the deadline!
And certainly wait for the Notice to Keeper (NTK) first, only reply to that. It may give you more grounds for appeal later anyway if they don't tick all the boxes and meet the deadlines and wording requirements discussed here:
http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/keeper-liability/
...and why not browse the 'POPLA decisions' thread and 'POPLA Information' sticky threads, at the top of this MSE parking sub-forum while you are here, and while you await the NTK?
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've seen it coupon, this person is changing his mind every day, he seems to think that a simple appeal along the lines of above should get the ticket cancelled. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

I am not a PPC troll - you can clearly see how many posts I have on here and suggest you should consider those things before you start slating somebody.
I'm in a position, where I can not go to court for this. Mentally and physically. Although you clearly have no understanding of that.
If its a long drawn out process to get out of the ticket, I don't want to. I hadn't read much about the PPC tickets previously so didn't know how complicated it was.
Yes I could just ignore and ignore, but the cost of 40 quid for the hassle of possibly going to court, it just doesn't seem worth the agro.
'the idiot' is not a he either, you fool. I'm not an idiot, and if I had the time to start battling with them, I would. But I don't want to battle! It's 40 quid, not a large expense for me, just a pain.
I appriciate the ACTUAL advice given, but I don't see the hassle of waiting and worrying about them issuing court papers and having to post a flippin' appeal worth it. So I will be paying up, on the basis that I did park without paying for a ticket. Yes, a mistake, and one I'll be more aware of in the future.
For someone who understands the system and has the fight in them, fine, go ahead, do it, see what the outcome is. I hope you win!
BUT - the hassle and stress of all of it isn't something EVERYONE can deal with, and I suggest you consider that in the advice your giving people to 'ignore'.0 -
But they never do court ever, so where is the fight in ignoring letters with no chance of it going to a small claim? Would you take an email from a Nigerian Prince so seriously ? By paying you in your small way keep this industry going, the idiots are the ones who fold, either by the impersonation of authority, and paying despite all the help given.
Before you pay look at these videos from the BBC watchdog programme

If you pay afterwards I really can't see any hope for you, this is a money saving site, not a money throw away site! When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

I'm just so confused by it all Stroma. I do appriciate your advice and I don't want to seem b!tchy or ungrateful! I just have other things that need my focus more at the moment. I'm unclear on the following (although I think I may have been told already and it hasn't sunk in, which is frustrating for others and myself!!)
How long do I ignore the ticket?
When do I appeal?
*if* they do issue court papers, am I able to pay up before court so I don't have to go through it? And if so, will this be much more than the ticket cost now?
Of course I don't want to throw money away, I'm just very confused about the whole thing0 -
Perhaps you are frightened by the word "court"? Forget the pictures you see on TV with people in wigs, a forbidding judge and somebody in the dock. That's the criminal court.
In the very, very unlikely event that this eve gets to court, then it will be the Small Claims Track. which is just a group of people (including the judge) sitting round a table, no wigs or gowns and a judge who is very used to dealing with people in this sort of situation. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Thanks Trisontana. Yes, I have no idea what the difference between small claims and the big courts are, other than the money value of the claim in regards to small claims. I am petrified at having to go to court. Its all well and good appealing with the generous help of all these knowledgeable folk, but if I end up trying to defend myself in a court, it'll all go to pot!0

It's dependent on the debt collectors they use, I know this sounds horrendous but it could 4-6 months. But it's just 3-5 letters in all that time, like junk mail
You can appeal to the parking company and popla at anytime within 28 days of your notice to keeper, afterwards its pointless as it will be refused
If they issue court papers you can pay up straight away and not go there, but bare in mind the cost of this will be higher than now. But it will not go that far.
Now you need to make a decision on what you want to do, if you want to do the appeal route you will get help, but you also need to do some work as well on this. If you want to go the pay up route pay before it goes up. Or the ignore route takes no effort and costs nothing. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

If you do decide to pay now, just remember they will soon come back asking for more money citing late-payment charges.
Once the scammers get their teeth into a payer, they try and get more money from them.0 -
Kite2010 - So are you saying there is no point even attempting to resolve the situation by paying now as they will just try to increase it? Now that's a battle I would be happy to take on, as I would have paid in the 14 days as requested by them. That I can work with!0
