    Hello and welcome Suggi!

Well I guess the time is drawing near for all of us. I've printed out the forms, I've worked out my SOA, opened a cashminder account, cancelled creditors. I'm having to draw my bankruptcy fees from credit: do you think that the OR will frown upon this? I live in an overdraft anyway, so when my wages go in and I withdraw them, it is effectively credit but then we have to live....Mmmmm

I'm also drawing out some cash. I'm just very concerned that all my accounts will be closed after the 1st (aka bankruptcy day) and I will be left with nothing for essentials. I will be open and honest with the OR about this but do you think that he/she will frown upon that. I just can't risk no food on the table for the kids.

Anyway, I hope you're all holding out well :)

    :D

well, today was my day...went to the court at 10am, the official looked through my forms and told me that they couldn't accept it as it stood because I hadn't put all of the addresses in of my unsecured creditors..(Natwest, MBNA, a water company, an electric company and BT)...I explained that I wasn't sure of their addresses because the debt had been passed on to debt collection agencies so I wasn't sure what to put down and since I had listed everything else (account numbers, dates, amounts) then wouldn't the OR know these well known organisation's addresses as common knowledge? I asked wasn't the need for addresses to be provided more for private traders or individuals who are owed money and not for big well know high street firms?

But no! She was having none of it and said that if I didn't supply the addresses then my BK wouldn't happen today!! So I quickly looked them up on my smart phone and just wrote down the address of their head offices and she duly accepted that...I got the feeling though that I could have just put down any address here and she would have accepted it just the same!! (Like, MBNA, Anytown Street, Anywhere, UK MB11 1NA!!.....A little inflexible/illogical I though, TBH and the only annoying thing about the whole experience!)

Anyway, I paid my fee, waited for 20 mins and was called through to see the judge for less than 2 minutes..who was lovely and sympathised with my situation and agreed that BK was my best option and stamped my form and wished me all the very best and that was it!! Now just waiting for the OR to call...

It was all quick and painless and since I've taken the rest of the day off work, I'm back at home enjoying a large glass of white wine to...erm, celebrate? Not sure if that's the right word, but I feel I deserve it nonetheless!!
