Hi
I received the letter a while back saying the bank had 8 weeks by law to respond, Ignored this and gave them the 14 days ie. stuck to MY deadline.
I then received a letter stating I would get a response no later than the 3rd of June, this was again past the 14 days I had given them when I informed them I would go to court. I went ahead and started the court proceedings and it was deemed to be served on 4th June. Today I received a letter dated 5th June turning me down, the one i was expecting! Eventually got through to them by phone, not on the 01977 number I might add. I was informed by the somewhat snooty young lady that they did indeed by law have 8 weeks and the letter was within the dead line, I argued the fact that I had been told that I would hear by the 3rd and that the letter I had received today was dated the 5th she gave a begrudging apology for that. However as I have now gone down the court route, what do you think my chances are now? Does the fact that they didn't get back to me as promised on the 3rd help me at all?0 -
Success
It works people dont worry, I recieved the standard letter last Friday and asked them to re evaluate it the same day. Yesterday I rang to say that as I had been patient enough to wait 8 weeks how much longer do they expect me to wait!!! Was told I would be put as a priority and I obviously was as today I recieved a letter telling me that a cheque for £1874.50 was issued to me yesterday, however, this was purely a gesture of goodwill!!!!!! As I had originally asked for £3300 I telephoned them and after a little haggling I managed to get £3000. The second cheque will be issued tomorrow and I should recieve it in a couple of days. :money:
So all dont loose faith just keep on at them. Am so thrilled I cant describe. Martin you are a God and I want to thank you so much.:j :j :j:j :j :j :j0 -

Bank Of Scotland Charges

My mother received the standard rejection letter today and I called up pretending to be her stating that i disagree with this and request that her case be re-evaluated.
the girl said that as they have to abide by strict timescales they would class her case as urgent and reactivate the case and should receive a letter within the next few days.
Hope its not delay tactics! I shall wait with abated breath to see if she receives an offer or not!0 -
I just phoned the bank and a letter is in the post offering me £648 on my current account charges. My origonal claim was for approx £1400 on this account plus interest. the very nice lady on the phone said there is a number on the letter for me to phone direct through to the person who dealt with my claim if I am unhappy with the amount. Which I will do because unhappy with the amount is an understatement.......................
I still have my bill payment account charges in the system so that will be more fun for me. Honestley I feel like I have been through a wringer here.
So folks my advice to you is to bully hassle cajole and pester the Bank of Scotland at every point in this process as it does get results!!!!!! --- BUT DO IT NICLEY AND WITH GOOD HUMOR)
I am back off to work with a spring in my step and a glint in my eye........
Good luck to all............. "I'm Just A Demin Boy"

Go into your nearest branch and explain to them that you have not recieved your statements. I did this and got them within a week. "I'm Just A Demin Boy"

So did you ring them after 7 days even though they said 8 weeks?
Well done for getting your money back!
I rang them 14 days ago and they gave me the standard 8 week wait, should I ring sooner or just sit it out?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
