Hey Skint
Just found our shiny new diary having only just read the last page of your other.
You sound like a lady on a mission. Life is busy as ever for you I see. Got my fingers crossed for the pay lump sum to come through
Re ebay postage, i have been using collect+ and despite reading bad press about it they have been great for me and I have had some great feedback left on Ebay. Costs 2.99 for a 2kg parcel, can be tracked but not signed for. £1 extra for signed.
Hows the home made soap powder going? I could do with some of that, for 2 people I do a huge amount off washing, or it feels like that anywayCould you PM me the details? Is it OK for really dirty stuff? My OH is a mechanic so his clothes are always oily etc.
Hope you are having a good weekend

The recipie is thanks to DFW - 500g borax 500g soda crystals and a grated bar of soap. Cost 1.60 for a weeks laundry for four of us. Is working fine for me and things are clean , i boost whites with laundry bleach powder which is only 69p.
However I am moving onto eco balls. will let you know how they go.. Lovely to see you back xxTrying to shift that debt!0 -
Thanks skint, may give them a whirl. I use Aldi and i bet it only costs me £2.38 a month so perhaps I shouldnt moan too much.
Is 7 washes a week for 2 people alot?
Glad Ive come back on and read through the diaries, they have inspired me to get on Ebay. 18 items listed and more photographed to go on through the week

Hi SBO I have used ecoballs but didn't like them as much as laundry gloop or even usual powder..I now tend to buy huge sack of Ecover and cut down on what we wash so maybe 5 washes a week for 5 of us
Gloop was good..may make some more soon...

Month 30, day 22 Do you have a recipie for your gloop? I am interested in these things! I will see how well the eco balls work for us - if not happy will simply revert back to washing powder.
Thanks for the compliment brizz, it really is a way of life for us now. 100 items free listing at the weekend. I am going to prep the next lot of listings (cleared some shorts from DS drawers at the weekend) during this week.
I chopped some wood yesterday as due to circumstances beyond my control I had to buy kindling the other day. This has stuck in my craw as I have a wood pile in the garden, and I bought my husband an axe.
To keep spends down I also made a cheese pie, but not a dry cheese and onion mash one, I made a cheese sauce type pie, hairy bikers recipie. This was with parmesan pastry and the kids and husband seemed to really like it. I made that because I had some cream left over and I had just cleaned the fridge out with milton and wanted to use it up.
Brizz- I checked out that blog you mentioned on your diary and I have some more recipies to add to my batchcooking list, these will mean I can batchcook later in the month with the cheaper ingredients. Shes a real inspiration and actively demonstrates eating really well really cheaply.
Due to my extreme love of all things aubergine at the moment (I love the colours, flavours, texture) I am going to look for some recipies containing them. We are aiming to be totally veggie three days a week. I still enjoy meat but its expensive. We need to get our grocery shopping costs down ....
Tonight as it will probably be raining when I get home I am going to make some flapjack, do some ironing, and shred some paper. If I get time I will photograph some ebay. My poor cheap shredder which I use for paper logs, has given up the ghost. Lunchtime I shall be in Wilkinsons and purchase another.
I can turn newspapers into fuel logs with them.
This time next week I shall be at month 29. Having these goals has made me so resolute to make it to the end of the journey. I am under 2 and a half years to being free of debt. How amazing - when I started out I had 78 grands worth!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
loving the homemade stuff, gonna have to try the homemade washing powder!!!
good luck with getting your wage sorted.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi rags, - Yes it has certainly been another saving. My wage needs sorting- it has gone to the next stage and I am now waiting...... In my mind I have spent the money a thousand times over - normally on the same things!
Got a verbal offer of help off my dad to sort the doors at the other house. Let the work begin!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Morning Skint
Let me know how the eco balls go as i'm always happy to try anything new. Brizzle how do you make laundry gloop?? I'm happy with the powder but as I say happy to try new things and especially if they are cheaper :money: We do around 6 washes a week maybe more with 5 of us.
We've also gone veggie 3-4 days a week :T was easier than I thought it would be with 3 males (they are the ones I thought would kick up a fuss but seems not) has definitely helped with the grocery budget especially as we've recently switched to organic fruit & veg :T

Month 30, Day 23 Appalled at the weather forecast, what madness is this snow in May?
Have also tinkered with my payment amounts on my snowball to allow for car purchase moving forward and still be debt free in the 30 months. This will give me flexibility as well on the months where money is tighter than usual.
I am still going to overpay my Vanquis this month. I am still hopeful of repaying it by December, this could slip to January if things go wrong....
Last nights activities, made some flapjack, washed up a couple of times, tidied up numerous times, made paper logs, shredded some paper, did ironing and got some more ebay listings together. If its raining tonight when I get in I have the ebay to photograph and the listings to create as well. - I always have paper logs to be done and thats fine!
Under the new regime, I am 8 days away from month 29, a 31 day month with a little wriggle room built in - just incase, not a bad deal at all.....Trying to shift that debt!0
