bathroom is sparkly - tiles (all walls tiled) all wiped down including behind the chrome towel rail which is taller than ME! - because the tiles are textured they can hold dust (as can all walls - if I'm honest).

DS's room tidied and vacuumed. bed made for him because a room doesn't look clean and tidy if the bed's unmade (IMO). DDs room vacuumed, window frame washed. The bucket of hot soapy water and microfibre cloth I decided to take up has been well used! Started duesting my room; broke for lunch. Prepped HM soup (chicken) - I remembered I had put 'something' in a green 'tupperware' in the fridge but as I couldn't remember waht it was I got it out in case it could go in the soup. Good job I did - it was the chicken I had peeled off the carcass - so that's been chopped and has gone in the soup, too!

All pairs of shoes are moved from downstairs. Need DS to go through his, really and throw BUT as the Vallikids are mid A- and AS- level requests for clearing out will be put on hold.

  • Busy day here - both at home and at work - plenty of flying done in 3 houses so quite happy.

The day got off to a bad start though. OH has taken my car to do the mega trip to the dentist and left me his van to get to work. Damn thing's fuel light was on so off I went to fill up. Stupid thing conked out half a mile from the petrol station on a VERY busy 60mph road, so I was trying to get it going with inconsiderate so and so's beeping their horns at me. "Oh yes, I really do want to sit here trapped at a busy junction with oncoming traffic bearing down on me" NOT.

It was pouring down so I set off with OH's fuel can which turned out didn't have the nozzle on it  A nice, kind couple stopped and offered me a lift to the garage and waited with me and took me back to the van :A. Put the diesel into said motor but still wouldn't start. Another friend was passing by on the other side of the road and turned around to come and assist me and got it going.

Went to fill up again at the garage and then my card "declined". I just burst into tears on the spot. They took pity on me and let me have the sandwich I was buying for my breakfast.

OH still not back from the dentist and he'll be getting a flea in his ear when do does return. Sat here contemplating sticking pins in his childhood stuffed monkey in the jaw area - revenge is sweet :rotfl:

So it looks like the budgets have gone haywire somewhere and I'll be spending tonight doing an inventory of the cupboard, fridge and freezer and coming up with some meal plans, whilst figuring out what the heck has happened with the banking.

Must hoover upstairs tonight and possibly do the bathroom too. Downstairs is "passable" for want of a better word.

Hope you are all having a much easier time today.

    TMD xx
