Or maybe don't go to the pub when you are on call;)

But half the fun of being on call is getting paid to have a pint!

I don't drive. I'm also an adult who is capable of popping into a pub for a drink with my friends, without drinking so much as to impair my ability to respond to a call.

Of course but "having a pint" in a pub doesn't usually refer to non alcoholic drinks.

Has someone said that you need to do your job from within this pub? If not then I really don't see the problem...do your job from elsewhere.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

I always have a pint in the pub....of coke. A pint is only a measure of a drink and doesn't make any reference to the contents of it.

Can you not go to another pub. Sam Smiths are very traditional. Is there no Weatherspoons nearby.
