    Morning :hello:

First I need to apologise to Shez, I have forgotten to bring the soup book with me   so can't PM you that recipe   (grovel grovel) :(

Today will be my last day of posting for a while - I am off work next week :j :j :j but am not getting my laptop back from XBF until Wednesday    so will be without internet access unless I go to an internet cafe or the library, which seems like a waste of a week off :D

XBF has fixed my laptop so it will be usable but he reckons it is not worth paying to get it fixed properly as it is dying slowly anyway   He says the system is not freezing, it's more a problem with the keyboard/touchpad etc losing their connection with the screen - and apparently it should work fine if I go and buy a USB keyboard and mouse to use with it. So will be off to PC World to sort that out - and then I suppose I just have to start saving for a new lappy  In theory I could afford one now, but it would mean dipping into what I've already designated "long term savings", and I don't want to do that. Is that MSE overkill

It's a shame I won't be able to post at the start of next week as I need to have a good spring clean/clearout and could do with some OS inspiration (did I say inspiration? I meant being shamed into doing it :D). So here's my general To Do list for next week - I'll try to revisit this with an update once I have my PC back!

    - Dismantle shelving in hallway to allow delivery of fridge freezer
    - Do inventory of freezer to work out best way of using up stuff which may defrost (there's not a lot left in there now anyway)
    - Receive delivery of new (working :j) fridge freezer
    - Reassemble hallway shelving and contents
    - Transform bedroom from a "junkroom with a bed in it" into a "luxury boudoir" :D This will involve a major chuck out and declutter
    - Transform bathroom from a basically lovely but slightly boring room into a haven of feminine indulgence :D
    - Sort out mountain of paperwork
    - Pay water bill
    - Chase Barclays over the opening of my ISA
    - Clean my sofas
    - Do a "big shop" and cooking marathon to restock freezer following replacement
    - Visit my mum
    - Visit my dad
    - Visit my ex to pick up my laptop
    - Drop in on a colleague's leaving do
    - Go to see an opera (Thursday)
    - Sing at a funeral (Friday) - paid, hurrah, so will help towards New Laptop Fund
    - Get a haircut (perhaps)
    - Go for an eye test (perhaps)
    - Go for a dental check up (perhaps)
    - Take a job lot to the dry cleaners - I still haven't found one anywhere near as cheap as the one where I used to live, and as my season ticket is still valid, I will probably just go there!

But right now I have to get back to work so I'll catch you all later - hugs to anybody who is ill, worried, stressed or otherwise in need of TLC. Donny-gal - have a lovely holiday. Slowlyfading - when you mentioned "campus" I looked at your location and am now nosey as to whether that's York or Lancaster university... I was at York :D

Edit: spiddy - thanks for asking :A - as AussieLass says (and as you can see from my post today) I am having computer trouble...

    Love Rzl xx

Have a great holiday Donnygal - wish it were me! Well done to those who are successful ebay-ers/amazon sellers - I've still not dipped my toes in the water on that one! Can't really believe that anyone would want to pay for any of my clutter.
Surely schools aren't just rewarding small portions? That's ridiculous! Growing children need to eat quite a lot of healthy food - if we start to let them think they should be only eating miniscule amounts we're building in another generation of potential eating disorders.
I've seen Dr today and will be working properly again next week - have quite got used to being at home. The sad thing is I'll have very little time to catch up with all of you!

    Morning All

Sorry but I think my post is going to come across as "down n durdy" - but DS1 wanted a chat with me last nite and tells me they are going to let him go in his job. Its an accountants and initially he temped there for 2 weeks admin, but they liked him and asked him to stay on and they would have a go at training him on the accounts side of things. Well they said he wasnt picking it up quick enough:o I thought it strange he took the job as maths was never his strongest subject, so couldnt understand why he would want to work in accountants? anway, he was upset and felt very useless, which has done no good for his confidence. We had a chat, but I dont know if I said the right things or not - and then started wondering whether its my fault, rotten mother, maybe ive let him down, maybe I should have moved out the area and put him in better schools? etc etc I dunno
He's 23, yet when he got upset he looked like a little lost boy of 10 again!

What with DH not being well and getting crap from my own job - things have been abit tough! Sometimes you feel like just jacking it all in!!

Get yourself together Shez stop grumbling and get on with it! DH is better and even managed some toast and bovril.

Sorry guys, I really hate sounding doom and gloom:o people never like wingers do they?

Crazychick - Well so far Ive only started the "Change yr life in 7 days" CD & trying to read the book (but its been abit busy past week!) So far since doing the CD ive been sleeping like an absolute log!!! I mean really deep sleep - I dont have a problem sleeping anyway, but this feels like a very dense sleep IYKWIM? Then again, ive done so much rushing around etc that maybe im exhausted!:D So I havent got round to trying the Slimming one yet, but will keep you posted. Have decided to give the Confidence Book & CD to DS1 to see if that helps boost him!

    N9eav - Well done with the money:T
    donny-gal/spiddy - have great holidays ladies:D
bargainrzl - Phew yet another busy post from you:D Dont worry about the recipe. Any chance I can her recipes on the internet?

Edit: Whats happening with the chooks?? did they hatch yesterday??

Hi – back for a cuppa coffee and five minutes on here!
N9EAV – glad they paid out!
HESTER – Good luck with the £40 challenge – a bit daunting, that! Let us know how you get on!
    DONNY-GAL – Have a great holiday!
JET – that was a good result with the mortgage company – well done! Hope your day calms down!
DLB – I’m cross on your behalf about the lunchboxes and I would definitely have to do something about it.
PP – so glad you’re feeling more positive today!
MRS MIX – Good luck at the hospital today. Hope DS2 starts to feel better.
BOBBADOG – hope you get better soon
CRAZYCHIK – hope your day gets better. Amazon seems to be doing well – I just hope it keeps up. I’ve now sold five books and have a sale pending. I’m finding that reference and lifestyle books sell better than novels (tip!) so I’m going to look for loads. One of the books – about houses through the ages – went for £14.00! Mind the postage will be more than Amazon have credited me with because it’s a hardback but it is still a good result. Anyway, I am encouraged and I love books so it seems right to be passing mine on for a profit!
ESSEX-GIRL – pressies sound ‘nice’!! Wonder what they’ll bring back from the next cruise?!
SPIDDY – glad the passport turned up! Happy Anniversary for you and Mr Spiddy tomorrow!
QUEENIE – have found lots of your recipes on my trawl through the OS threads yesterday so thanks in anticipation! Hope the presentation goes well.
    AMIE – will pm you!
Well, I had my day all planned and it went right out of the window as it seems to do on a regular basis. DILtobe phoned at ten past eight to say she had been violently sick and could I take my DGS to school and DGD to nursery? Fortunately, DH hadn’t left for work – he’s had my car for most of the week and I’ve just been working round that without having to drive him to work and fetch him at the end of the day. So, yes, I was more than happy to take the LOs and so pleased that I could use the car. It would normally take me five or six minutes to get to their house but, of course, it was rush hour traffic and it took twenty minutes! Anyway, we made it to both places just in time then I phoned DIL to say they had been safely delivered – she has gone back to bed having phoned work (she’s a Geography teacher) and will let me know at 3.00 if she needs me to pick the children back up. When I got back, DH said we could go and collect his car so we did and I was able to do my farm shop, butcher etc before I went home. So glad to have my car back!
Anyway, the house is now a tip because I had taken the sheets off and intended to get the bedrooms all done by 9.00 so that I could do some baking, paperwork, listing on eBay and so on. I’ve not long been back and have only packed the meat away so I shall have to get on with packing the fruit and veg away, now. I feel all out of synch now and it will feel like that for the rest of the day! Anyway, feel better for having caught up with all your posts and unloaded my day on to you!
Sun is shining like mad this morning so I’ve got all the sheets out – didn’t expect sun today.
Jeremy Vine has just said Martin will be on at lunchtime talking about helping children with their money – should be interesting! I love listening to him because he is always so enthusiastic about his subject – my hero (well, after Colin Firth, of course). I wonder if he would change his avatar and do a Mr Darcy?!
Anyway, must go – I can’t stand the mess round here!
    See you all later!

    KathyXX:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

SHEZ - poor DS1 - they can still look like babies when they're upset, can't they. My oldest is 35 and a father of two but I can still see the toddler in him at times! Hope DH better soon

OOPS - good luck with the interview!

I put my name down for one too shez but the mental images I'm counjuring up from my name are either the cook of the outfit with a big mixing bowl and wooden spoon or the one that does all the gossiping and stiring (think chicken run)
