Well they're wrong. I hope they are so helpful if and when you're claim is refused because you have not insured yourself for the correct use. Some people just cannot be helped.
i know they are wrong and i will ignore their advice.
the more interesting matter is why are they wrong. is it that they assumed as many are likely to - that commuting is not business travel0 -
Maybe they don't want to pay your costs.0

On another issue I was reading up on my employers car use policy and it states there that any employees having to drive to different sites other than their usual one needs to have business use insurance so I think that does suggest your employer is mistaken.0

Perhaps because the author's experience in the Insurance field (Actually entire work experience) amounts to 6 months as tele sales for Admiral and then straight into confused.com as an author of such articles for the last two years

think of it like this. If someone says they go on holiday each february to a single permanent ski resort, is there anything in that sentence that indicates that they go to the same ski resort each february. I think you will agree the answer is no
No. What does the word "permanent" mean in your example "single permanent ski resort" ?
That the resort is permanently a ski resort - it doesn't cater for any other holiday activities at other times of the year? Unlikely.
What else can it mean but that it is your permanent, regular, holiday destination?
It is your use of it that is permanent, not the resort's existence. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

each of the three locations i work from are usual work locations.
although words like usual are ambiguous and open to interpretation. if i only went to one of the locations once a year it would not be a usual place of work. but how many times in a year would i have to work there for it to become a usual place of work0 -

i was asking why my employer was wrong in their advice to me.0 -
my supervisor has now got back to me and said
"as far as the insurance is concerned, business class insurance i think is for the likes of salesmen travelling to various places in one day. sd and p to one place of work is adequate as you only travel to one destinafion and then collect a company car to drive. you are not continually driving your car around."
so another who doesnt know the situation.0 -

Why are you asking your supervisor for insurance advice? Your employer was also in the wrong for offering advice.
According to your tax thread, you seem to accept that you need business use so just get on with it.0
