EH the garden was featured again tonight on the BBC2 coverage (at about 8.30ish) - Toby Buckland must really like the garden. It is the Motor Neurone Disease garden and it won a Gold Medal in the artisan gardens gategory. A picture of it is HERE (garden No. 7 just in case the link goes to the telegraph page rather than the specific pic).

Hope the cookery demo and class went well Pippi.

Great link there thank you. And :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T for a rather fab parcel :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

First thing DD said when she saw it was 'YOu can't make me wear that!'

Now I have amo for her if she's stroppy thank you so much GP!

I def think you should get a rubber chicken Pippi. Bit of humour never hurt! Good luck with your classes x

I think its so helpful to keep a sense of humour isn't it

    How your lot doing.

Its arctic here - minus two with windchill taken into account.

    I hope you're all warmer.

So the fires on (again) and I just can't get warm.

I'm comfort eating and to celebrate the second last exam for DD, (as you do) :) last night Mr F treated us very kindly to a nice tea out in a lovely local place and we had very pretty Haggis - .

    Not the dog.

He's too furry and quick to even think about eating.

As the tea the night before was mushy peas and bread, my meal plan is quite intact, but I've just taken a wee diversion or two along the way.

I've also moved my food ramblings to a new spot. Hoping to get some frugal stuff on there too. Moving things along for moving next year well that's the plan.

    Focus focus focus.

Pippi - so glad you 'got mail'. 'Tis a good job the cellist is such a good girl - after all, there was a version with great Uncle Bulgaria and one with Madame Chole ... would look so pretty in palest pink..... :rotfl:

I hope that the cooking class went well and that you had good feedback - I take it you must of had if you are talking about 'Workshop #2' - which is great - i'm sure these classes are very much needed and worth their weight in gold if they are going on in your area. Some folk don't know how to budget, cook from scratch or make meals out of leftovers - it's a fact. And I think it is much more positive joining in a fun class/workshop than trying to decipher a poncy cookbook from the latest 'celeb' all on your own, any day of the week. Mind you, as a veggie, I'll pass on the rubber chicken if you don't mind, and sign up for the rubber carrot course - have you sketched out the curriculum yet? :D

    Brrr! Minus 2!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that garden is lovely and when Toby went through it on Monday and then again last night, you got such a better feeling as to what was planted vegetables and flowers - Armeria Maritima is in there. And folks, before you think I am going all posh talking latin - it is only because I can keep this post MSE by mentioning .....'Thrift' :money: :rotfl:

    Have a good evening y'all.

Minus 2??? Brrr I thought it was cold here! It's very deceiving here I have to admit. Looking out the window you could easily put on shorts and a t shirt.....but once outside you need thermal undies, thick coat, hat, scarf, gloves the lot as the wind is so bitter! Brrr!

Ah oh dear starnac so the winds with you too!

    Wrap up.

Greying, I did baulk at the 2 tonnes if stone for the building of that bothy but free exercise I guess!

The class well it's a four parter so no escaping us, but we Had taken staring at the ground teenagers to quesadilla makers in less than two hours, who knew that flat breads and random leftovers, a dry pan and a bit of magic turns stale bread and bits. InTo toasty Mexican delivhts, we did French bread pizzas too, but the guys were more adventurous than imagined

Great start and you're right, just being able to have the confidence o chuck a pile of leftovers on bread and heat it up whilst not strange to us, it's a nifty skill to have.

They've said they're happy to come back.......

Tea out was nice, mr pippi doesn't get up here much and also doesn't have the same budget constraints, he bought hs hoose when prices were 'normal' so low mortgage and a good job, he's a fin sort or the odd treat.

Dd is still not keen on a womble jumper......keeping other pattern choices up my sleeve should teenage angst hit....

    :-)
    :-)

    ThanKs guys

A Womble jumper? How cool! I had a my little pony one my mum knitted for me which I loved. She also did the shoe people and the ninja turtles one. I'd love to find a turtle pattern to wear now!

Quenelles ... and whisky sauce, oh my! Very yummy, Pippi :) Mind you, at minus two, you obviously need them :( its cold here, but nowhere near that. I did hear there was snow in the Chilterns this moth, and I've had hail twice this month (teeny tiny stuff).

Definitely having my own version of comfort food - mse hobnobs :) though they taste a bit different now, as I realised I was putting twice the amount of fat in that I should have been - very :o:o:o that!

And the snails and slugs are managing to get across my carefully broken eggshells! (wails unhappily) - I've surrounded some with more eggshells, and fringed the lot with coffee grounds, see how they like that, ha!

Don't work too hard! And glad to hear Mr Pippi is up there, he'll stop you doing that. I think :rotfl:

KC snails have been at my lettuces too :( I've got hardly any left now. It wouldn't be so bad but that was our attempt at making our tortoise almost self sufficient! We are trying to grow all the things he likes to eat so he only really costs us electric and nutrients. Do you realise how difficult it is to get dandelions to grow when you want them too???
