Ah. Shame your son hasn't come round to acceptance yet. I know the pain it causes, my daughter fell out with me last year and I've not seen or heard from her since.
I get snippets of information about her via the grapevine every now and then. I just hope she gets over herself (she's always been a very stubborn person!) before the cancer takes me.
Your son's young and still has plenty of growing up to do. It might take a few years before he realises that you did the right thing.0 -
Jack, is this correct?
'Decree Absolute date is contingent on this, too?'
Did B's ever have sight of a copy? Did you? You don't want any DA delay.
That really will be the end of this long road.

Yes need FRO approved by court then apparently she can apply for DA which will take many more weeks. Although she has no incentive to apply for DA and as it costs her fees may wait for me to apply. I have a will in place to ensure she has no claim, in the will it refers to FRO as justification for her not to be a beneficiary of the will.Regards

After all you have been through, Jack, I would pay the £45 fee and get it declared.
Time has already slid past the 12months' permitted since nisi, which was October 13!!
That delay is ex's to justify - and pay for doing so. Noting your solicitor way back said it was better for ex to apply because of fees, well....I'm not sure I'd trust that and if £45 will do it for you, go ahead....as soon as that FRO turns up.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Yes agree I probably will apply myself if she doesn't especially as I'm representing myself my fees are cheaper. Not sure what's involved for DA, no doubt a form but if only £45 maybe the best £45 I've spent.....Regards

To be honest Jack, it's a spit in the ocean when you think of how much cash you have stumped up in this long-running saga.
Hope you're enjoying your new home, even with the daunting DIY and professional work still to be done.
A "complex" lounge sounds intriguing........?
Still, it can't be any worse than our place when we moved in. We had pink and blue paintwork throughout (think pink skirting boards, pink and blue painted doors, blue dado rails **shudders**) Our son's bedroom had an orange ceiling and orange and brown tiger striped wallpaper. And our bedroom had two different wallpaper designs on opposite walls. :rotfl::rotfl:"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

Ah the very colours I was planning for the lounge... maybe I need to rethink...;)Regards

Our vendor was a lovely lady who had just split from her (female) partner, which was why she was selling the house.
She proudly stated that her and ex had gone to a "women only" home improvements class and they had done all of the DIY and decorating.
The lovely, original Victorian doors had contrasting colours in the panels and beading. All done very painstakingly, and carefully but my word, the colours were hideous.
The orange bedroom looked like something out of a p0rn movie. Our (then 5 yr old) son loved it, he thought it looked like a "jungle room" but it was so dark, and headache inducing, that it had to go.
Our bedroom has never been decorated since we moved in, we just haven't got around to it. We still have a pink and blue bedroom door, blue skirting boards and two different wallpapers, one of which is a pretty floral pattern, the other is a bright blue, rippled effect, with a slight sheen to it.
I'm not sure who was running the decorating class, but for the sake of home-owners everywhere, hopefully they have retired now!
When I get 5 mins, I'll try to post some pictures. If that doesn't put you off pink and blue for life, nothing will! :rotfl:"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Just spoke to her solicitor who spoke to the court yesterday and confirmed that they did receive the order on 20th July but just put it on file, so good job I chased it up!
Apparently they will now put it in the system to review with the judge but no idea how long that will take???Regards
