Well done in staying civil and resisting temptation to lash out.
She will try to haggle and once she sees it is already more than you comfortable with and offered just in hope to avoid further fees she may accept as now she is under pressure as opposed to past times.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

At least it sounds a little bit like she's wanting to get it sorted soonish!

Interesting she contacted you direct rather than via solicitors-perhaps her parents are starting to comment on the size of the legal bills and pointing out it comes out of the pot

Yes, also thought she's feeling a bit of pressure, not before time.

Parents have funded her legal costs until now[post passim] She hasn't had to go into card debt/borrowing cycle at all, unlike Jack.

Soon 2b-ex's parents know how to exploit loopholes re: the 'loaned' £s [for her legal costs] and eventual inheritance to her advantage, if - as Jack posted a while back - they don't blow it all in a casino somewhere first[#2606].

'Hi do you know what is happening re finances? Thought you were putting offer in writing after court but not heard a thing so far? Surely we can reach an agreement and get this sorted?'

I had to laugh, then I came up with various replies but told myself to wait an hour by then I thought just keep to the facts and answer questions.

    I wrote:

Yes it brought a wry smile to my lips! Maybe this marks a turning point in the reality stakes - certainly hope so. Best of luck going forward Jack.

Didn't she say a while ago that all contact should be made via solicitors? Perhaps you should remind her of her own rules!

Hi Jack, Just to let you know you have been in my thoughts and prayers recently.

I hope you are still managing to stay strong and looking after yourself.

    Take care.

Thank you, not heard yet if she'll accept the offer should hear by Friday but I'm guessing as it's taking a while they're probably putting together a counter offer.

I've not opened the latest bill from my solicitor yet, can't face it's I know it'll be big as it'll include barristers and actuary fee with all her prep fees for the FDR
    Regards

My sympathies to you , after reading this I pray I do not have to deal with solicitors.
