When this person hoves into view, any 'baggage' will vaporise:-) It's your mind that's weighed down right now, understandably.
    Actually agree with it.
Now , jack , re money to your name - almost all available men in this age bracket are divorced and they would be in exactly the same situation , you are no more disadvantaged than any other man :). That is if they earn a decent wage as you do, don't forget it is only 10% of population that earn what you do and very importantly child support ended for you so in reality you will be a better candidate than most others.
May be interesting to see how your reasoning works and why you do not feel worthy and what exactly you think you should be able to provide to the new partner that you will not be able to.
re solicitor - i lost the plot with your letters , would telling them you want minimum communication just enough to be ready for court and no further negotiations as every attempt at those resulted in more expense and failed and you have no reason to expect it being any different this time
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

Last week my solicitor asked me to send updates of all bankand credit card statements, so I make 3 copies of all 7 accounts statementsfrom last submission October 14, I made a summary table giving the total debtto date for each set and placed 3 separate sets into a poly pocket and postedfirst class Thursday night (£1.80). Today I got the following reply:

Thank you for letting me have your updating information. It is extremely helpful to not only have the documents themselves but also yourtable setting up the total debts and for this to have been provided intriplicate to me. I have written to ‘ex’ solicitors with a copy of this information, aswell as sending the same to the court.

I have now included the provision for child maintenance inthe without prejudice letter to them and I would be grateful if you couldplease confirm that you are now happy for this to be sent. One thing I didnotice from your updating disclosure is that you have managed to repay asignificant amount of the joint credit card debt. Are you able to tell me howmuch exactly you have been able to repay? I do think this is something that youshould be given credit for when looking to resolve matters.

Could you please let me have copies of the loan documentsso that this can be added to your liabilities. If you are unable to get astatement, can you let me have the loan agreement itself?

Unfortunately she only attached the first page of the letterso in my reply answering her questions and providing the loan agreement andlatest Santander credit card statement (which included their last fee paymentof £800), I pointed this out. I will becareful to check the details of the next bill to see how I am charged for thiscommunication but I hope I won’t be charged copying?

I’m going to the FMH tonight to pass signed forms back to exref house sale, she’s been clearing out the loft and has some boxes of stufffor me to take away and sort through….

Gloved fingers crossed re counter-claim, Jack. Thankyou for update.

If knowing that fmh house sale is still on track is a lift for us, it must be so much more for you.

Should solicitor's bill add extra copying costs, the child in me would want you to reduce their costs at same per page rate, for all you have supplied historically.

Thanks yes I'm ok, it was my sons birthday on Friday. I sent a card, a text and transferred some money into his account, as I know that's what 19 year olds and most of us appreciate most, especially as he doesn't wish to spend any of my time with me. I offered to come and see him at the weekend but no response, not that I expected any.

The house sale is progressing, the estate agent called me Friday to confirm surveyor report all ok and mortgage approved. The only risk is the home buyers report which is due this week will no doubt suggest certain things need doing. So the buyer may at this point request a cost reduction or for the work to be carried out prior to completion.

Friday I got the next bill from my solicitors, I still haven't opened it yet as it'll just make me angry.

Thanks everyone for your continued support
    Regards

Well done Jack, for maintaining your usual dignity and not being deflected from what you, loving Dad, and he, struggling son, both know is right.

When eventually he cracks, all of this nonsense will fall away.

What will stand is what you did, how you were, and 'How, why, did you keep going with me through all of that time Dad? I was such a ----.'

We can't help you with that envelope - wish we could - but when you bite the bullet, spit it out here.

    Anything more from Landlord?

I won't apologise for this Jack: in a still time yesterday, in a small ancient place, your name was one of 5 I held in mind, with a full Church[good surprise] doing the same for people they cared about, as has happened for centuries. Brilliant sermon from young Mum-of-3 Priest-in-Training was uncannily apt.

Thankyou for your update. Any post from you is welcome:-)
