Hello everyone!!
Well, I managed to severly burn a saucepan cooking (ahem, I was actually just "heating up" some custard, ooops!! Dont kill me please....), so needless to say the custard was ruined, but now so is the pan.
Any ideas on how I can fix it? Soaked it overnight but no difference.
I am thinking vinegar, coca cola, or stardrops may be in the answer somewhere..
Thanks guys, dont really want to have to buy a new pan - sorry if this is an obvious question - but I heat up custard and burn it for heavens sake!
(the apple crumble to go with it was a success though so I am not completely useless, just a little bit...)

Hi Ms London
Soak it in a solution of biological washing powder, I guarentee that it will shift it.

I did the same thing on Monday!
Used a table spoon of washing powder, and boiled it up with 3 or 4 inches of water, burnt bits came straight off!!:j0 -
I have heard of the cola thing before but not actually used it. I buy Barkeepers Friend from ASDA and that works brilliantly... it is a powder and you pour into pan add some water to make a paste then leave overnight.0

Hi - for a burnt saucepan, I cover the base with a layer of salt, add water then boil for about ten minutes; always works!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

ALso another one is to chop up a bar of soap and bring this to the boil with water as well:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'm sure we've all burned pans in the past. I do it all the time when I cook rice. My worst one though was to burn the entire base off the bottom of the pan
It was just a cheap thing from Woolies though. I really do need to invest in some decent pans . . .0
