he can be quite evil when he is tired. really crabby, unpleasable and he lashes out at everyone including me. He's ripped his sisters glasses off today and snapped them in half in temper, because she got the red cup when they had their cup of tea this morning. She has visual problems and a very high prescription and her spares were broken on weds. Luckily I called the opticians and they had fixed the spares so I got them. If I hadnt she would have been unable to see all weekend. I am so mad with him I've practically ignored him apart from requests for drinks and food all day. I was so close to cracking him one I had to walk out of the house.

At least you walked! as previous posters have said it doesn't last for ever and you won't remember it so badly in a few years.
My friend's DD was at nursery with my DS and went through a biting phase, friend had various talks/rants and punishments with her but it only stopped when one of the other kids bit her back. we laugh about it now though although it's about 6 years down the line...

well something nice happened to me this week - this sounds daft but on ,friday my five year old had her first tooth come out :)

I'm a right sentimental soppy sod! Then ben says. I want my tooth out. I want the tooth fairy so being the softie that I am I put money under both their pillows!

I hope the tooth fairy left a note to say that it was 'on account' and that no more would be forthcoming if he didn't stop biting PEOPLE! It damages teeth, you know, they're no good for the fairy castles if they've bitten too many people ... :rotfl:

And if the tooth fairy DIDN'T leave that note, and he keeps up this biting lark, maybe she can NOT leave money next time his big sister loses a tooth but a note explaining why ... Of course if you then stop biting people the teeth do recover in time and are then OK for the fairy castles again!

    5) Resist the temptation to bite a biting child back as a way to "show them" their wrongs. Use a positive approach instead. You don't want your toddler telling his teacher that he bites because that's what his parents do!

I bit a child when I was young, only once though cos my mum bit me when she found out.

My friend done the same thing last month to her boy. He bit a child and got one back.

I don't have kids of my own yet but when I do they will get disciplined for doing wrong. It didn't do me any harm.

Mind you...I say that....I'm a big softie, maybe hubby will be the bad guy :D

Me, a natural? I don't think so. But age and guile beat youth and innocence hands down, every time ... :rotfl:

And I've had some wonderful confidences from other people's children. Like the little darling who told me, as we walked along after school, that he'd lost a tooth at school that day, but he wasn't going to tell his mum, he was going to put it under his pillow in some water so he could drown the tooth fairy ... Where do they get these ideas from? :rotfl:

I used to bite when I was little. That was until one day when I drew blood. My mum decided that enough was enough and came over and bit me  I still remember it like yesterday, I was SO totally shocked! It worked though, I never bit anyone ever again! Respect mum ;)

Edit: By the way, I'm not sure I would recommend this course of action though!

Feel very proud of yourself. Its a decision you won't look back on with regret.

My lil one has been on he other end of this biting lark at pre school lately. A couple of weeks ago got bitten hard on the nose, which went dark purple, left teeth marks and some scarring now...I was not happy! Lil man told me who done it and it was one of the children who I would least imagine. Good for you in seeking advice here..I'm still waiting an apology off the parents, I know if it was mine I would be soo sorry.
    £900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x
