Need to nip into branch this week and sort it as didn'tget chance yesterday.
Not disputing that it has to be paid, thats not the issue, the issue is a cheque was written out almost 2 years ago so either the bank has not noticed the date and let it banked after six months or the person it was written to has altered the date and the bank hasn't queried it, either way the bank if they are doing their job properly should have noticed!0 -

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but cheques don't have an expiry date! You have to stop them at the bank yourself after 6 months. I found this out as where I work someone cashed a cheque a year after I had written it off (so 18 months after writing) and I rang the bank and they informed me that cheques no longer go out of date after 6 months!
Will go back to lurking now x0 -
Hi Dee, thanks for popping and please feel free to post anytime, I have also been told the same thing from the bank, but at least its sorted now and I know.
So last few days have felt crazy and don't seem to have had a minute to stop.
Was out last night helping a friend with a project she has going on, so didn't get in until 9pm and then started on housework and getting sorted for work today.
Tonight we are out again at a school event for the children, should be a low spend, already bought the tickets,£1 each for me and hubby, kids don't need to pay as they are participating, will probably only spend a few pounds on refreshments and raffle tickets.
Other spends this week have been £20 on Petrol, need to nip to Mr T today for cat food.
Have had 2 survey payouts this week - £30 from GTM and £50 from y0ug0v, so thats the last of the big payouts for a little while as i'm nowhere near redeeming from the others I do. This will be paid off the vets bill:(, wish it was going off the CC.
Rent money is in the bank, so thats looking healthy at the minute, well at least until DD go out.
Have a good day.x.0 -
Last year within a couple of weeks the hoover, microwave and toaster all decided to die on me. Sadly the fridge/freezer that I am waiting to pop its clogs is still going strong. Wont buy anything now unless its broke.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000
