Penny hun I am sorry to hear you are feeling down. You are not the worst mother in the world. Today I grabbed Jellytot by the only thing I could catch as she slipped my hand and ran in a tantrum straight for the road and a car. That was her t-shirt but mostly her hair. She shrieked the place down but she didn't get run over so I am taking that as a win after the day I've had. I would have had a meltdown at DS as well and told him to pack it up, clean the table and get to bed. His options were there after school. It isn't your fault he wanted to play games/watch TV and then do it last minute. So give yourself a break ok :)

As for the in-laws. They probably have it eyed up as a retirement home where you can wait on them hand and foot. SELL SELL SELL!!! :rotfl: - Sorry if that is mean but I have my naughty head on today. ;)

Hope you have settled now and had a relaxing evening.

Big hugs. Sometimes thems the days we has. :( xxx

Hi Lilty, I could write a book on the tantrums my two have thrown over their short lives. You are so right about my DS, he spent yesterday evening with can't be !!!!!d attitude and tonight he was far too busy playing xbox, he drives me mad because he is a really intelligent boy, yet sometimes can behave like a complete plank, maybe its just the fact he is male (sorry any male readers) his dad is the same though, he always puts things off and then we have major stress to get it done in time (remember back to January and his tax return).
  • Sorry to hear you are feeling down Penny, but understandable with all you have going on. My DS1 is the same as your DS for leaving things til the last minute/changing his mind. You summed it up perfectly - plank!

Hope you are managing some chill out time now Xx

    Hi Penny

Flipping kids - who'd have them eh???? I think all of us have been made to feel the WORST parents in the world by the rug rats and probably on a regular basis. Might be worth sitting down with him in a calm manner and chatting through what happened and why you erupted - this is how I imagine it went as that would be how I would have been...

I bet he has forgotten about it and will know deep down that you were in the right.

I agree with Lilt as well about parents - but then I am on a downer with mine at minute so makes it easier to agree..

Take care and hope it gets better. xxx

  • Morning Penny, seems we're all having a bit of a moan about school activities :o I usually welcome them but when there are several in one week (and none in the four weeks before ) it's a bit much isn't it!

Lilt I did the same thing to my ds2 a few few years back (was probably around same age as Jelly) he ran out of the shop and off towards the car park (was after school time so really busy) i had to leave dd with a total stranger and RUNNN after ds2 as he'd gone so quick and I grabbed him as he got one foot on the road and yanked him back. I ruined his coat as i'd grabbed him by the hood and the hood ripped clean off  but luckily he'd fallen backwards and not forwards as there were loads of cars going past. I was so angry with him but he was so young too and I felt awful afterwards like a really bad mum :( (he'd undone his pram straps and escaped from the double buggy) luckily DD was left with my now friend and was chatting away to her as I felt awful about that too. God kids really are sent to test us aren't they :rotfl: !

Hope you get the house all done up quickly so you can get it up for sale soon! xx

I just wanted to add the same feelings - my two (8 and 4) and forever arguing, making my blood boil, have me repeat myself over and over, selective hearing, don't know where they put their whatever so we panic to find it last minute and so on. I've been made to feel awful at times but the good days will make up for it hun. You're not alone. As for men......well, let's start a book.
