Well done on the ald1 shop that was a bargain! And there was me impressed with my tatco spends last week (£74
haha!) I clearly need more MSE tips
Carpet fitting is expensive  could DH fit that himself? My sister fit a bit of carpet in her dining room herself she did an ok job too, I was expecting to go round and it all be loose but you couldn't tell the difference between her job and the living room (professionally done)!

I fitted a carpet once. With a stanley knife, and a butter knife :rotfl: - not a bad job either. But I cut one edge slightly wonky and it didn't go under the door gripper properly and sometimes caught on the door. Would know better this time, Luckily it was only by the front door! x

Hi DFOD. GMT is Global Test Market a survey site, they are pretty good for sending out frequent surveys but I find they are on the boring side. If you want a link give me a shout.0 -

Morning all.
Sorry I have been missing, I have been missing at the rental house cleaning and decorating, it is slowly getting there, DH is there today doing some more decorating/fixing, fingers crossed it should be ready to go on the market soon.
Have been trying to keep up with surveys as things are tight moneywise and every penny counts, have redeemed a £10 amazon voucher and £10 payment from survey companies and I'm still waiting on £30 from GTM, I currently have £8ish in my purse and £4.37 in my bank account until Tuesdau when I get child ben.
Trying to be as frugal as possible at home, washing is being hung out or put on airers, every scrap of food is being used up and only buying what is needed.
I have put a sort of lentil dahl in the slow cooker as I made a curry last night we had loads of sauce left which had some veggies in (all meat had gone) so I whizzed it smooth and bunged it in th slow cooker this morning with lentils, coconut milk and will see how it turns out, thought I could have it for lunches next week as I have some naan breads in the freezer that could go with it, all cheap anf filling, going to make jammy rock cakes and choc crispie cakes this afternoon.
Entered meter readings on Thursday and scot power have dropped our DD by £10 a month to £56, which is brilliant as hadn't put in any reading since January so expected it to go up as I thought we would of used loads over winter, seems not.
DD has informed me that her school shoes feel tight, told her she has to wea them one more week and I will get her some new ones in the Easter hols, better get her feet measured as I have a feeling she has had a growth spurt, good ob its the fashion at the minute for girls to wear there skinny jeans short on the ankle.
I'm sure I have lots more to update and can't remember.0 -
My DD has been telling me her shoes feel tight too! I guess we'll all be lining up for new shoes come the Easter hols!
The lentil dahl sounds yummy! In fact I might just put that on my meal planner very soon, it's been a while since I made some
Great news on the elec bill going down. I gave my meter readings in the other day but i've a feeling my bill will be going UP not down! xxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I'm sure kids are like weeds, a little bit of sunshine and they start growing like mad :rotfl:.
Fingers crossed your bill doesn't go up.0 -
Just dropped DD at her friends house, she got a last minute invite to a sleepover, have spent £2 on some treats to take with her though.
I have managed to get 3 loads of washing dry outside today, just need to iron it all now. It has been lovely weather wise today and I have loved the fact that I've been able to have the back door open all day, the house feels really fresh now.
Due to DD not being home for tea I have re-jigged the meal plan, should have been eating Gammon, egg, chips and peas for tea, but have decided to give DH and DS left over lamb casserole mash and peas andI will have poached eggs on toast, which means tonights tea can be saved for tomorrow, so I've saved a meal.0
