your meal plan doesn't sound much different from mine apart from the fact I don't make my own pizza (i prob should would taste better as i'm not a fan anyway lol) I don't drink squash but we do buy the fresh juice and I will only buy 'not from concentrate' and organic meat & fruit & veg so it must just be this that is pushing my budget up :( but still i feel better for it so i guess i shouldn't moan :o:)

Hi PWPS thanks for sharing your diary.

I'm subscribing and I'm also the bad mummy who always says "no".
Usually now when one of the kids asks for something another will jump in and say "we can't afford it" breaks my heart but it's true!

    Joanne
  • Hi Joanne, thanks for popping by and reading my diary. It's hard having to say 'no' constantly isn't it, but at least our children will not grow up spoilt.

DFW123 - No I don't buy organic, with DH being in farming I heard lots of different things and decided not to go down that route. Yes we buy fresh fruit juice as well, try to get the kids to drink milk/water as DD has soft teeth so worry about acid on them, I think overall food has become so expensive, I was reading an article the other day about food banks and they are stretched to there limits with the amount of people needing help, I noticed a few weeks ago my local sainsbugs has a collection for a local food bank, so I'm going to try and add one item to my shopping every time I go in to donate, just something small like a tin of beans or soup, makes me feel quite sad that in a country like ours people are going hungry:(.

On not so MSE news, the dogs ill and is off to the vets this morning, fingers crossed its not too expensive.

  • Dogs very poorly and is having an operation on her stomach, looking at a very big vets bill around £600:(, but she would have died if we hadn't gone ahead.

No more overpaying for me for the next few months.
  • Oh no :( poor doggy. Did she eat something funny? Hope she will be ok xxx
