Hi PWPS. Have had a scoot through your diary. There is a LOT to catch up on
you are doing fab though and I admire all of the work you put into surveys etc. I did so when on maternity leave and all through last year when I was on a rampage. I cashed out a few hundred £ overall but this year I haven't done a thing. Hard to find the time really, and a lot has been going on since September. Crikey almost a year ago...
Good luck with your August challenge! I have the opposite problem with my OH when I go shopping. He is a right penny pincher, which would be fine if he actually chipped in a penny towards my shopping... or anything really! So his snotty little comments really start to grate my nerves.
How old are your kids if you don't mind me asking? Just wondering how long I have before jellytot starts eating me out of house and home and I have to pack up food to send her to her nannys!lol.
Lilt xx

Things seem to be plodding along nicely pwps.:)
I've been going through the 'to use last years uniform' or to 'buy new' debate with myself. DS2s trousers and blazer still fit and look fine, and it's his last year so thinking 'recycle'. I've always been of the mind set that they must have a new uniform at the start of every school year.......where did I get that from.:o
Hope you had a nice bit of 'me time' having your hair cut.

Good morning.
Hi lilt - My children are 10 and 11, DD is tall and skinny and DS plays a lot of sport and is constantly hungry, both eat adult size potion and cost a fortune to feed.
Hi Alice - I used to be the same regarding school uniform, but the last couple of years I've tried to buy it throughout the year when it was needed, School uniform for DD had been a real shocker, hope fully next year won't be as bad as a lovely lady from MSE gave me some uniform for DD most of it is too big at the minute but I'm guessing will fit her hext year which will be brilliant as I will have all new uniform to buy for DS.0 -
Can you believe it no kids and I'm up early, the house is lovely and quiet though.
Dropped kids off yesterday and then went and had my hair cut and coloured and it looks lovely:D, did cost me £45 BUT I DON'T CARE COS I FEEL A MILLION DOLLARS:D.
Also had to put fuel in the car so anther £20 fluttered away.
This morning I plan to tackle DS bedroom , going to start with his walk in wardrobe and pull everything out and sort through it.
DH is off work this afternoon, he needs to go into town so I'm going to go with him and do a shop and as we have no kids for a few days we are going to go to M&S and get a few treaty bits, now before I get shouted at that it's not very MSE I do have a plan, I have a voucher for £5 off a £25 spend on food and I also have a £5 giftcard, so spend £25 on some lovely food and it should only cost me £15, i will then go and get fruit and salad bits from sainsbug as I have £10 in nectar points, so my target for this week is to get food shopping for the week for no more than £30 in cold hard cash.
I know it's sad and not MSE but I'm so excited about going to M&S for food shopping, i used to go weekly before we had children, not to do a full shop just to by a few treats that we really liked, hardest thing will be keeping DH under control .
Off to catch up on diaries, take care.x.0 -
You still have to treat yourself every now and then and I like the sound of you using vouchers/points to reduce the cash spend!
I'll also be spending some cash today as me and my wife have an afternoon AND EVENING alone without the three kids - so our plan is to go to our favourite bistro (which we used to go to regularly before the two youngest children arrived) and then possibly the cinema this evening but to be honest there isn't an awful lot on so we may do something else....like get some sleep :rotfl: (we have a 1 and a 3 years old!)

Hi losingmydebt, sounds as though you have a lovely evening planned, I remember those days well when the children were little and we would get a free night, we would end up flopped on the sofa asleep by 9.30pm.
Made a start on DS room almost a full box of things for tabletop sale, mainly books and soft toys, found 5 items to ebay and I've listed as I have found stuff as I can do it on my phone :j.
Going to have a quick cuppa and then get back to it0 -
Morning penny
Sounds like a very productive morning. I started listing using my phone too, so much easier isn't it and I'm more inclined to do it that way where as if I need the laptop I procrastinate! Strange, as I live on it normally?!?!
How funny that you mention about M&S as I was only thinking last night that I would love to shop in there again one day. I know you can get treats etc as you are now and I love their offers but I won't go in until I'm in charge of my spending in case I have a splurge lol. Getting there slowly tho.
I think DH and I will have a nice night out over the holidays actually - he deserves it

Good morning.
Spent a little more than intended yesterday, but seemed to hit Sainsbug as they were reducing their meat so managed to get lots of packs of burgers, pork joints and mince reduced, so spends in sainsbugs after nectar points was £25.85. Also went to M&S which was lovely but also a bit  at some of the prices, did quite well though as stuck to the offer, well except for the salted caramel cheesecake, so what did I buy
1 pack cooked jumbo chicken drumsticks (8pack)
1 pack Mozzarella and tomato salad.
1 hoisin belly pork
1 BBQ beef brisket
1 pack chilli and coriander king prawns
1 pack italian smoked meat and cheese
1 pack lime and coconut chicken breasts
1 sunken salted caramel cheesecake
1 bottle white wine (free when you buy 4 picnic items)
Total came to £41.85:eek:, but after offers and vouchers kicked in £18.80, which I don't think is bad, but would never have paid £41 that would have been just crazy, told DH not to get used to it back to aldi next week :rotfl:, oh but it was so lovely to wander round and look at the lovely things.0 -
Plans today are to stay at home, catch up with housework, finish DS room, list a few more bits on ebay and make sure all surveys are up to date, have done a couple this morning.
Spoke to DD last night and she is having a wondeful time with Grandparents ,DS wasn't there he was out playing with a couple of children that live near by, so will try and catch up with him this evening, It would have been nice to have spoken to him but it's also nice that he is out making friends and enjoying himself, that's what being a child is all about.
Better go and get dressed and do some housework.x.0 -
Great saving at M&S pwps, well done. Enjoy the peace and quiet with out the kids, I can't remember the last time I was home alone.:)
