If you want to sell your meat then you have to be licensed, they have changed the rules recently.

At the moment we rear only for ourselves and if close family or friends want a Turkey then we ask for a donation.

DH does all the killing, I help pluck once they are dead and then DH guts them and I help clean them up ready to be frozen - it's quite a family effort!! Even DD (11) will help - to start off with she did not eat Turkey for a few years as she had watched them killed but after a few years she realised that this is what happens to all meat and now eats any meat we put in front of her!!

To be honest I love the meat so much I don't want to sell it, I want my freezer stocked so I can have Turkey when I want!!

Thanks for the reply - very interesting! We would like to do this in the next 5 years (given that the next 3.5 are taken up with me paying of debt!) My DD will be your DD's age by then. I love the idea of being self sufficient tho I don't know if we could trulu achieve that :)

Definitely wait until next month's pay for DSs shoes, or you can bet your budget that his feet will grow after you buy them!
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I'm in awe how organised you are :) Well done on getting all you did and I second waiting until nearer the time for the school shoes. My DD's didn't fot her one year as I'd bought them too early :S I know you won't want to go with the rush at the end of the hols but might be worth waiting a while.

What's on the plans for today?

Hi Debtfree2012, thankyou but I don't feel that organised.

Took the kids out for the day today which does mean it has been spendy, but decided to use the £40 onepoll money I received the other day, so we had lunch out and then went to a local wildlife place, we have had a fantastic day and the kids are shattered, we met friends at the wildlife place so the kids had a good run around and got to see there friends, but I did spend £50 .

Since arriving home and checking emails I have sold an item on ebay bagging me £18:D, received a survey payment of £10 and had a survey from I-say which took me to redeem level so I've ordered a £10 amaz0n voucher, not bad going :D.

Also nipped into a discount sports shop that we were passing and managed to get DD some branded trainer in her size for £10:j, much better than the £30 I thought i was going to have to pay, only need to buy her school socks now.
  • Good morning,

DH and DD have disappeared off to local agri show, DH had a free ticket to get in, so only DD to pay for , so only costing about £3 to get in for the pair of them instead of around £20, DS wasn't bothered about going so I volunteered to stay at home with him, to be honest I was glad of an excuse, 1 because it is raining and the field will be wet and muddy and I don't fancy spending the day muck up, 2 money saving and 3 it's wrong time of the month(sorry TMI) I'm grumpy and thought of having to use porta loos , no thankyou.

Have received the £10 amazon voucher this morning, I'm sure the kids will announce they NEEEEEEEEED something at some point soon and so will save it for that point in time.

Have done a few surveys this morning, but as it's the weekend it's always quiet and I don't get as many, next week when kids are away with G Parents I will have a good sort out of bedrooms as I'm sure there are some ebayable bits lurking, also need to box up low selling items for table top sale school are supposed to be having when we go back.

Kids requested Pancakes for brekkie this morning, which was easily done, especially now the chooks have started to lay again:j, cake baking later at DH request, lunch from stores just sandwiches and fruit, we are at a birthday party tonight so will get fed there, but do need to take a bottle of wine so there will be a low spend today.

Wish it would stop raining I have a mountain of washing, had to do a load this morning and dry it in the tumble dryer, not a happy bunny .

Off to catch up on diaries, then I must do some housework :(.
