Sounds pretty normal to me, Agutka. I was just thinking the same thing two minutes ago, going up the stairs - okay I'm 32 weeks, but still... I know I'm not the fittest person in the world, but not the unfittest either. It's the last trimester, blame it on that. :)

:(:( How are we supposed to push a baby out at this rate - surely it's going to be more aerobically intensive.
I was just thinking what would happen if I were to walk up the stairs, down and up again. Would I actually pass out?

Perfectly normal, just means baby is getting bigger and therefore there is less room for your lungs to inflate to their full capacity, hence the shortness of breath. When baby starts to drop a bit (happened for me at 34 weeks) it gets easier to breathe, although I am still having a bit of trouble breathing when walking up stairs.

Well I went to get meausured for my nursing bras today, thought now would be a good time as we were off to JoJo Maman Bebe ouflet so thought I could pick up some nursing bras while there.

I have now gone from 36D pre-pregnancy to what the girl who measured me thinks will be 40F for nursing bras, although she did warn me that they usually measure at 38 weeks, so still have another 10 days to go, but 40F seem really huge. They don't look that big to me, although DH is loving it!!!

Okay, need some reassurance. I am finding this past week that I can no longer walk up stairs without needing to catch my breath. Last night my dad noticed that I can't go two sentences without catching my breath! Just talking!

ive been out of breath for WEEKS! almost since the start, sometimes just from talking, but im sure the stairs are trying to kill me  :D

welshlassie - sounds like your other half and mine have something in common....
he cant believe his luck, bless him! :D

Has anyone used them for large purchases?? The travel system and car seat we have chosen works out nearly £80 cheaper than John Lewis but DH is a huge JL fan and worried they will be of a lesser quality  :o

Have Used Kiddicare Many Times. They Are Great Value Providing Nothing Goes Wrong With Your Purchase. My Maclaren Buggy Wheel Went Funny And They Were Awful At Sorting It Out And I Ended Up Having To Pay For The Repairs. Think Jl Would Have Better Customer Service And For The Peace Of Mind And Convenience It Might Be Worth Paying That Little Bit Extra.

Anybody Else Analysing What They Are Eating Whilst Being Pregnant. I Am Looking Back At Things I Ate Last Week And Now Thinking That They Could Have Contained Listeria, Etc. Getting Paranoid Now.

ALSO WHEN DID EVERYONE REVEAL THEY WERE PREGNANT. WAITED TIL ABOUT 10 WEEKS WITH OTHER 3 BUT FINDING IT HARD THIS TIME. MORE IS EXPECTED OF ME, I.E. LIFTING AND DOING THINGS AND IT GETS HARD TO GET OUT OF THINGS. ALSO I AM RUBBISH AT KEEPING SECRETS, ESPECIALLY WHEN OTHER MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY ARE REVEALING THEIR PREGNANCIES
    now mum of 4!!!

SeptemberBaby, I bought my cot mattress from Kiddicare and there were no problems at all. Service was quick and I got it for about 2/3 what it would have been elsewhere. It's quite decent too (it's for a cot bed so wanted something that would stand use for a couple of years) but I can see your OH's point, if it's a big purchase with the possibility of something going wrong eg electronic and expensive I tend to go the extra few bob and get it from JL. I had no complaints whatsoever with Kiddicare though.

Agutka I can so sympathise. When OH and I go for a walk together he's got to drag his feet because I shuffle along, wheezing like an 80 year old with TB. I find laundry really gets me gasping - in and out to the line, downstairs with the laundry basket and then folding and carring clean clothes back up - exhausting! As for hoovering - leaves me blue! I've been like this since early on too, I think it's something to do with progesterone making your lungs work even harder as well as the lack of space for lungs to inflate. On the plus side, it passes quickly if I sit down for a minute.

Wonder how jenpoptab is doing this morning .... ? Here's hoping she sees some action, poor thing must be sick of waiting. :(

if they'd contained listeria you'd have known about it by now ;)
Early on I stuck to the rules verbatim but then relaxed about it - yes there are risks to eating cheese in a mould rind etc but then the last big salmonella outbreak was in Cadbury's chocolate... A risk should always be seen in context. And anyway what's done is done there are enough things to worry about when you're pregnant without worrying about the things you've already done ;)

We told close friends the day we found out - we needed someone to do 'OMG' to. And then we told family at about 5 weeks as it was Christmas and there was no way I could make excuses for not drinking for a full week without there being comments - not to mention that I was eating oddly and waking up about 3 hours earlier than normal :rotfl: If you need to tell work because your work is putting your health at risk then tell them - if god forbid anything happened and you miscarried you'd probably have to tell them anyway...

I've been thinking this - the idea of people fiddling around down there turns my stomach (although getting a baby out wouldn't bother me ... am I strange?!) so it's a serious plus ... that was until I discovered they'll probably want to put a catheter in  . I can only hope they wait until I've had the spinal and somebody distracts me and I don't even notice it happening because otherwise they'll have to hold me down! :o

Yes Eels, don't worry, they put the catheter in when you are numb! I don't remember either of mine being put in but I do remember them being taken out! No pain, just a quick "ooh" to the friction! I was gutted when they came out as I knew I'd STILL have to be getting up to pee every half hour. I can remember hobbling along to the lav (at the other end of the ward  ) holding my stomach in & looking about 95! :rotfl:

Hope all is well with you Jen - fingers crossed!
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D
