I am so confused and just don't know what to do. My baby is going to be coming early as they have said it is not safe to go beyond 38 weeks but the hospital have beening giving me loads of conflicting advice about when I should go in and have the induction!
One consultant says I should have it as early as Monday (34 weeks) as this is safest for the baby whereas another thinks I should try and wait until 37 weeks as this is safest for the baby!
They want me to choose a date but I just don't know how to?0 -
On the subjects of baby mags, I just got two bags full from a very nice lady on Freecycle. They're from Spring 2006 but they're good for the general advice, its just the products might not still be available and the legal bits are probably out of date but you can get round that with a trip to Mothercare and the direct.gov website!
I still seem to have bought every one going, but when I'm done with them, I think I might scan all the info I might want in the future (a job for between leaving work and giving birth!) and then offer all the ones I have on Freecycle too.
Always worth an ask on there as someone might have a pile their toddler regularly trips over!0 -
Good Morning all, wonder if I can join? Its very early days for me, only 5 weeks with a due date of 25th March 09. Very very nervous, will be my second child but ds is 8 this year and the thought of what feels like going backwards is very daunting (sorry to sound so negative). Dont plan on telling family until about 12 weeks but am very worried about telling ds as he has always made it very clear he does not want any siblings!
Hope you dont mind me gatecrashing! x
Hi & welcome.
I'm 12 weeks with my third. Others are DS11 and DD7 - 8 by the time no.3 arrives. I know how you feel - when we've told people, i've had lots of congrats, but also lots of 'you nutter'!, because i'm starting all over again.
DD was absolutely thrilled when we told her - i'm sure she'll make a very helpful big sister.
I visited a friend yesterday, she had DS2 18 months ago, and her only other child, DS1 was 11! He was a bit horrified because he knew how babies were made and the thought that his mum had been doing that was DISGUSTING! But he loves his little brother now.
The friend said that she's found having this baby much easier and more enjoyable as she's a bit older and wiser and a lot more relaxed about being a mum. So much so, no.3 is due in November.:beer:0 -
Hi Gem,
Hope ur still ok. How annoying that they wont advise you on what to do. I feel that they are the experts and they should at least be able to give you a list of the pros and cons of being induced now/waiting 3 weeks. There's an article on babycentre if you type into the search box "premature rupture of membrane".

Thank you so much, it is really helpful to know how other children have adapted to a new baby.
Congrats to you on the news of no.3 x:j :j :j:A0 -

I think ds will be very helpful but if the subject has ever been brought up in the past he has alway made it so clear other peoples babies are ok, but why would I need another one I have him! I really dont want im to feel hurt, pushed out or like he is not good enough. He is my world but this has happened and I suppose he will have to adapt, I just worry so much.
Its nice to hear that I am not the only one with a big gap, all family and friends around me have had children only a couple of years apart.:j :j :j:A0 -
Hi all.. I'm now 8wks and 4days. Hopefully in two weeks and nine hours I will be reassured everything is alright, but for now I'm feeling a bit weird due to the fact I haven't felt as many crampy pains for the last few days as I've been feeling for the past few weeks. Hopefully it's just that I'm getting used to it. My boobs are still as achey.
Anyway, enough moaning..
When has everyone started buying bits and pieces? My mum has been asking "We can get excited after the scan / 12wks, can't we?" but I'm paranoid I will just jinx everything once I start buying things. I don't mean big things (I'm saving that for the Jan sales!), just cutie clothes and toiletries on offer.0 -
