  • I think so yes. I only moved to the area last September so I didn't really know what was available. I went down to the Heart and Lung Centre for my ECG last week and if maternity is anything like that I will be very happy!

My MW said that they had done the maternity unit up down there and it has resonable reviews - I can't really see the point of going further away if I don't have to.

I won't be there until a long time after you though :D

Ill be able to report back once ive had the baby, let you know how i got on!

The premature/special needs baby bit is supposed to be one of top five or something-so that sounds good too in case baby came early or had problems.

Id stick to New X - the one my sister went to has since closed down so im not sure where else id be happy to go to.

I think the heart and lungs bit is quite new too.

Hi everyone. Thought I'd check in to see how everyone is.

    Good luck Gem!

I can't believe I'm getting to the top of the list now. It didn't seem that long ago that I was right down at the bottom - the time really does fly!

Baby is very low now. It was engaging a few weeks ago and considering I can feel it moving against my cervix now tells me it's even lower.

The weather is making it hard to move. Thank goodness the kids are now on their summer holidays!

Anyone else suffering in the heat?

    Good luck today carol!!

Gem, so what happens next? Will they need you to go in for them to monitor you? A colleuge of mine gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 28 weeks, and that was going back 15yrs! Medicine has advanced a lot since then too so I'm sure all will be well.
Take care and keep us posted.

MFD- all your food appears healthy so that is good. Its not as if you are snacking on crisps and chocolate (as I might have been guilty of on a few occasions!!) I went through a phase lasting only a few weeks of having to eat to keep the sickness at bay so I think it is normal for some women to eat more in early pregnancy.

Hope everyone else is well xxx

im finding myself getting rather upset and worried over the whole birth thing as its getting closer.
Im not good with 'not knowing' if you get what i mean, its the unexpected that scares me i like to be prepared.

Amen to that sister! That'as exactly what's scaring the poop out of me too! I know that's not overly helpful but I figured it's nice to know we're in the same boat! I think you're doing the right thing by talking to you mw about it all btw, hopefully she'll set your mind at ease (and if she does, let me know what she says!)

I feel the same and this is my 4th. Ok my youngest is 11 so it has been a while since I've done the baby thing. But yesterday I saw a friend who has a small baby and while I was holding her I was thinking... crap, I'm not sure I want one of these full time. Hope that feeling goes when I meet this little one :rotfl:

I'm still trying to figure out if it was better first time when I didn't know what to expect or this time when I know exactly what is going to happen! :rotfl:

One thing I know for sure is that its all worth it in the end :D
